... if Jade Rawling had a change of heart and decided that he was a Hawk through and through after all? As far as I can tell, he is only a Hawthorn uncontracted player who can still agree to a new deal with them.

This way, the Hawks can get pick 6 (Jacobs) AND Rawlings and the Doggies can't do a thing about it.

there was a deadline wasnt there of when players needed to re-sign by? plus can hawthorn fit him in their list? wasnt that the reason essendon was involved? i think the doggies wouldve thought of it quite well before they executed it, dont you?

The Bulldogs wouldn't do it until the deal with Jacobs was done. Hawthorn were always running very close to their salary cap, then they re-signed Lekkas and picked up Croad and Jacobs. Now they can't afford Rawlings - even if he didn't completely have the ****s with them.
