From what I heard this morning, Steven Koops was set to be a Bomber, before he raised his asking price to a price of ridiculous proportions. Instead, we ended up with Mark Alvey, as a last resort.

I also heard that Matthew Allan and Justin Murphy are on base payments of $55,000 per year.

Also I heard Danny Jacobs was just about to sign a deal to go to Carlton, but Carlton didnt agree on the offer, so he ended up a Hawk. [Sheeds]

Makes the Murphy and allan pick ups even less of a risk. We gave up nothing for them and they are costing us **** all room in our cap. Well done sheeds

I don't think Sheeds would have picked them up if they were asking for anything more than minimum wage. But I think both wanted out of Carlton, and for a proud and great club like Essendon to offer them a lifeline, they must have felt very relieved and grateful.

Isn't $55,000 below minimum wage? It must be performance based, which is a very good move.
