I love rooting through garage sales, markets and the like looking for the older compilation albums...
These can be a real flashback, as they throwback and add singles I feel, just to make up numbers...
The old 100% Hits albums are classics for this theory featuring:
Huey Lewis and The News - Coupla Days Off
Icy Blu - Pump It
Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch - Good Vibrations
If you shop around you can make up a real soundtrack to your life with these and remember where you were, who you were dating, and which team won the premiership when they were hot tracks...
For the X-Box generation, they'll always have their So Fresh and Hits Now CD's to look back on...
For Me it's all 100% Hits, Summer 'XX (Add year for desired flashback)...
Some of the classics I own:
Ripper '76
'82 Up In Lights
Hits Huge
Throbbin' '84
Raiders Of The Pop Charts
Beat The Heat
'88 The Winners
Hit Pix '88
I'm still buying those So Fresh CD's to keep touch with what's hot.
What are your favourites and what tracks do they feature?

I had Beat The Heat on tape. I'd probably be able to find it if I looked hard enough.

I remember having '87 Right on Track when I was a kid. I can't speak for my tastes as a 10 year old, but from what I can recall it was kickin'.
