What he said, but question whether Rawlings may play closer to the sticks on small grounds.
Also would like to see K-mac bulk up in the pre season and be given a go there during the Wizard Cup games.
Wait til we get rawling first!

Is there a person at our club named Bowden who has demonstrated he can hold down a key position? Sorry I must have missed him. (Of course if the definition of a good full forward is one who gets about two kicks a game, never lays a tackle and stands and watches as his opponent runs the ball out of defence then ignore this post)

Patrick Bowden and a resting Luke Darcy.
Tim Walsh in the practice matches.

Very harsh.
Bowden has a long way to go to convince me he's up to it as well, but I think you're being a bit unfair.
Bowden lacks the physical side to play FF but I do like the way he pushes up the ground and takes marks on the lead. This is what the CHF should be doing (Bowden isn't big enough for CHF).
FWIW, I still don't think he'll make it, but I'm prepared to give him the chance.

yeah well. he is the smartest forward we have, and doesnt waste the ball when he has it. His lack of physicality and accountability will be less a problem at FF than across half forward, and his kicking for goal is deadly accurate.
If we have a big man in the forward pocket and another at CHF to make the heavy contests, we can afford to let bowden play his natural elusive leading game from FF. I seriously think he is the closest thing to a matthew lloyd that we have at the kennel.
I think we need harder workers accross half forward, like Johno or maybe Bandy? guys that will tirelessly run and present themselves all day.
He may not start there, but I bet Johnno has a bit of time up front next year, again.
I don't necessarily agree with that, but he simply is one of the best options at the moment due to his mixture of agility and marking.
I'd love to see one of the others stand up and make FF their own.

Bowdens weaknesses are, hands off the deck and gets pushed off the ball very easily.
If other big blokes like Darcy, Bandy take the heat away, he will hopefully have a huge impact playing his natural elusive role. He is quite strong overhead and a deadly kick.
Still, elusive is fine but I'd like to see Bowden add more to his repetoire, such as getting stronger and standing his ground in contests.
Horses for courses...and not Jordan McMahon (i'll never ever forget that matchup on Fletcher this year:confused: ).
Rawlings, Darcy, Grant, Johnson, Street, Bowden, K-Mac, Skipper & even Walsh will all spend some time at full forward this year.

Spot on. The days of having a permanent full forward are all but gone. Unless you have the real item. eg Lloyd
I saw Rawlings marking stats for this year and its very impressive. Not sure if they were mainly across HF, FF or HB?
Took 13 marks against us and kicked 4.

He's great in the air - did he take more marks than all of our team this season?
Not the best kick for a forward, though.
