View Full Version : St. Kilda's best lineup for 2004

In my opinion this is St. Kilda's best lineup for 2004:

B: Voss, Hudghton, Maguire
HB: Jones, Penny, Fisher
C: Ball, Hayes (C), Baker
HF: Hamill, Riewoldt, Dal Santo
F: Milne, Gehrig, Clarke
Foll: Koschitzke, Harvey, Powell
Int: Montagna, Goddard, Black, Thompson
Emerg: Peckett, Guerra, Blake

Jones may be pushed up onto the wing depending if Gram or Guerra secure running back position. Brooks not yet ready for rucking duties early in season. Thompson to bounce back after horrific injury. Maguire to pinch hit in the ruck. Murray unlucky to miss out.

any thoughts?...

2 points
1/ Wrong board
2/ Why have Milne in the team as the Saints best results in 2003 were when he didn't play

Yeah, just like Geelong, eh?

Milne is far too good a player to not have him in the side. With a bit of confidence he will bounce back next year, and with more delivery into the forward line he will get more opportunities.

Oh FFS I AM a Saints supporter, but stick this into the Saints forum, you'll get the response you're after.

Aim for top 4.

Should get top 6.

Top 8 is the least.

Mods, please move this to the St Kilda board.

Guerra an emergency?!! Start him on the right half forward flank! Move a few others around, he is too underated.

Guerra will be in the first 18. No Question. I'd hope the team would look more like this.

B: Voss, Hudghton, Maguire
HB: Jones, Penny, Guerra
C: Goddard, Hayes (C), Riewoldt
HF: Hamill, Kosi, Powell
F: Milne, Gehrig, Clarke
Foll: Knobel, Harvey, Ball
Int: Dal Santo, Baker, Black, Thompson

I guess you would be yawning after your teams season.

Bar the ruck, we have got superb depth.

I can't get Baker into that team. New recruit Gram doesn't get a spot, while I can't slot Murray in anywhere.

Peckett, Ferguson, Wulf, Blake, Thompson, Schwarze, Houlahan, Moyle and Schwarze may all be forced to front up for the Scorpians.

Everton you have gone too tall take out Knobel and put in Baker. You can't have 3 talls and 1 running player on the bench we need fresh legs. Kosi and Maguire can sub for Brookes when he's tired.

It would be pure insanity to run without Brooks and Knobel.

Koschitzke should only be an emergency pinch hitter; his role in a KPP position is far too important.

We have enough runners. Only bring in Baker if a tagging job is absolutely essential and could be the difference between winning and losing.

Our midfield is one of the best; we can go head to head with anyone.

I'm surprised that so many of the suggested teams don't have Jason Blake in the best 22. Sure he has injuries over the past couple of years but he has shown enough to be in the best 22 as a running tagger. He is big enough, strong enough, has plenty of staminar and most important quick enough to go with players like Hird, Kouta, McLeod and Black. All teams need a flexible player like Jason Blake.
