please!!

____

Can you help me?

I'm a grad student studying overseas and I need to track down some AFL stuff via the internet.

Do you have, or can you point me in the right direction of ...

- a detailed history of the AFL.

- individual profiles of star players

- video or audio clips, the all-time famous ones ... 3/4 time Whitten speech etc ...

just leave me a message or post here. I normally only post on the eagles board, but I need some help from the wider community!!

Thanks

I am kind of looking for a history that has commentary as well (not Bruce type of commentary, I mean critical thought). For instance, why did the VFL admit the Eagles and Bears?

anyone! please!!

1981 South Melbourne was virtually bankrupt and had to fold, merge or relocate. 1982 Calling themselves "The Swans" They played all their home games in Sydney at the SCG. The club was headed for extinction until sold to medical entrepreneur, "Dr Geoffrey Edelsten" in 1985. Edelstein instigated a marketing campaign intended to gloss over the Swan's liabilities.

The VFL had an agreement to pay WAFL and SAFL clubs big transfer fees for players it poached. That agreement ended in 1986 and basically the VFL was broke. They invited SA & WA in for a licence fee of $4m each. SA said shove it up your arrogant ass. In stepped Christopher Skase with share holders money and formed the Brisbane Bears. The WAFL was also broke and was relying on transfer fee's to exist. Enter the "West Coast Eagles"

After an audacious bid by Port Adelaide to enter the competition, the AFL gave Adelaide the green light to become the first South Australian team in 1991. Fremantle Dockers Followed 1995 becoming the 16th team. Fitzroy Lions played their last game after 113 years in 1996 and merged with Brisbane Bears to form the Brisbane Lions. 1997 started with 2 new teams Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide entered the AFL as the "Port Adelaide Power"
