View Full Version : Australia v NZ
Hayden, Gilchrist, Williams out. Cairns playing for the Kiwis
Harvey & Maher open
Harvey out for 25 from 19, Maher 3 from 10 out next ball
Ponting & Martyn the new batsmen
With Australia's place in the final assured, are we approaching this match with a more casual attitude?
Harvey 25 off 19. Not bad, particularly if he was there as an opening pinch hitter. But you'd think he'd try and take more advantage of a rare top order promotion.
Maher also failing to take advantage of a rare call up to the side.
Martyn failing to stop the top order collapse as well. :o
Time for Ponting to snap his form lapse this series.

I can't understand why Clarke is batting so low. He should be coming in at about #4 in matches like these.
Australia 4/76 after 16 overs. Symonds out for 18.

You insinuated that he wasn't trying.

Insinuating that he didn't try hard enough is pretty poor form.
I insinuated that he wasn't good enough.
He might get another chance next game to bat up the order and prove me wrong next game. But I doubt it.
7/168 in the 43rd over
Bevan 44 not out from 72:rolleyes:, Hogg 9 from 30:rolleyes:, Clarke 2 from 15:rolleyes:, Bichel the new man

Bevan did very well, but Hogg is a shocking cricketer.
Fancy only being able to score 9 from 30 balls with the field spread.
The sooner this hack is dumped, the better.

We still should win the game though. This pitch is pretty ordinary, so 225 is going to be hard to get.

We can but hope.
Good start for our bowlers, although its a shame Fleming was given not out despite hitting the ball.

I blame Warnie's mum for Hogg playing. ;)

What is going on with Lou Vincent?
The guy i remember was a good quality, level headed cricketer, however the version in India now is playing stupid shots that not even Courtney Walsh would attempt.

You can put Ian Harvey's name down alongside Hogg. He is a shocking cricketer. Never makes runs for Australia! and his bowling is very overated. His fielding must be his only asset keeping him in the team, coz he aint a batsmen or a bowler

How well is Bracken bowling?
I'm still not convinced, but he is bowling like a man possessed.

Lee Bowyer,
You don't know crap about cricket if you think Ian Harvey is overated with the ball. His changes in pace are amazing and his variation is why he is in the team. His form has been great from the world cup on.
