Back in 2001 I was shocked to see Craig Turley looking like a machine rearing to go in a West Perth jumper with the headlines Turley is back! Also Chris Lewis was in the WAFL these days and I though "this will be like the good old days"

but I wonder what ever happened to Turls mooted comeback? I didn't get to see if he even played, did he?

I remember watching Claremont exclusively Lewis who shone in the middle until he retired but never got to see Turls.

Anyone remeber Peter Sumichplaying FULLBACK for Souths in the late 90's? I do. Also Paul Peos was servicable for East Perth

ah the WAFL ain't like that these days

Not sure if you are talking about when Turls retired the first time when the pressure of being an AFL star in a one team town took it's toll or when he "fully" retired.

I remember when he first quit the game, it was a huge shock to everyone, and though he did come back and play for the Eagles, he was never the same player again.

note the date 2001 in my initial post, he was to make a comeback in 2001 but I never heard if he actually played

Seems Mitch White may be playing for Subi next year.

Mitch was great, shafted by KJ. He should have got a heroes send off like Milli.

He played one game (Rd 1) I think and got injured. He remained as an Assistant Coach to Andrew Lockyer with West Perth for the remainder of the year.

Anyone know if he's back in Margaret River now?

The Eagles should have done better by Mitch, I agree.

The team could have put together for a gold Kevin Sheedy signed razor blade! :D
