What are the odds of him trying to reinvent his game as Port's 2nd tagger (after Josh Carr).

He did a decent job on Johnson in the 2nd half last week, and if it came down to it I would rather sacrifice Lyle's game and poor disposal than the rest of our midfielders (with the possible exception of Francou, but he can't stand with an opposition player at ballups etc, he is too valuable in getting the ball moving)

Lyle is a disciplined player so I'd expect him to play every game from here on in when we play against a team with a hardrunning midfield, unless he gets a tagging role and screws it completely.

With Carr now playing off his man far more Lyle may find a role being the stopper, just running with and standing next to his man constantly to stop easy possesions.

I sincerly hope this does not happen. Last year, he tagged (well attempted to anyway) a few players....they always ended up the matchwinners for the team. He is too slow, and he gives opponents WAY too much space and time to get the ball and dispose of it.
The only place lyle belongs is on the bench or in the magpies. His foot skills are the worst in the side, closely followed by Francous. He is one of the slowest midfielders we have. He is not tough at the ball. Only thing lyle is is overly fit.
I mean, he used to be one of my favourite players, but he really is a liability to the side. Unfortunatly for him, this could well be his last year with the Power...which is sad cos he is a fantastic worker and clubman...but you dont win points for working hard on the training track unfortunatly

OK everybody repeat after me. 'No way can Braden play' Let this be Port's mantra for the rest of the year.

Why is Lyle even getting a game. This is the perfect oppertunity to play Kane Cornes while the team is winning. While Lyle is a great team man it is a backward step playing him, he is not going to get any better and the team is not gaining anything by playing him. Lyle should only be playing if the team has a lot of injuries and last time I checked we didn't have any injuries. Its about time Kane got a game he is the future not Lyle.

huuurrrrraaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy

I have been saying this since day one - Lyle is shit

He is just the link man who stands ten metres off the pack to get the easy feed from Francou et al

He is too slow and can't kick the ball

Kane Cornes will be a star

The Father / Son rule is clearly totally flawed

The crows should get something worthwile off bloody Cornsey after all!

T McGuiness played enough games I think for us to use the father son rue ................. Just saying.

Tagging is one dimensional and he'd have to do more. But I think he can and I hope he proves a few wrong.
As for Francou, he had one poor disposal last game, others, such as Stevens, had 2 or 3. In the final quarter I counted 7 kicks that were not only accurate, they were penetrating and precise.
