View Full Version : Is it too early for Krakouer?

My gut feeling is that it is a little premature to throw Andrew Krakouer into such a big occasion? I have seen some of his play in VFL games but I think he still needs some time. Perhaps with classier players around his that may help. What does everyone think?

You aren't the only one OMH. I can't say anything about his ability as I have yet to see him play, but to me it does seem a little early, especially when the football ops manager said they had expected him to play the year in the VFL to fine tune his game.

It is a real concern that the Tiges have opted for this approach in an especially HUGE game. I also heard that Zantuck or Haynes may also be included. Obviously Rogo didn't pull up and someone needs to be recalled for the unfortunate abscence of Draga, but calling on inexperienced kids is a bit overbaord.

There mustn't be much let to choose from if these guys are going to get a run so early on in such a vital game.

What the hell has happened to Vardy? So much for being earmarked for Full back huh.....

TheGlove, according to the Official site Zantuck is in. You are correct there.

I, for one, hope Andrew joins that "elite" group of players who have kicked goals with their first kick in AFL seniors footy. I do know that he will receive a fairly hearty cheer when he runs onto the ground for the first time during the match. Good luck to him and I hope he has a long and successful career.

Well Dogbrick, he didn't fulfill your wishes but did the next best thing!

Goals with his second and third kicks!

CJH,
Yep...next best thing was goals for second and third kicks...*grin*. It was great to see some of the boys run from almost all over the ground to clap Andrew on the back after his first goal. I turned to my young daughter and said "You'll be able to remember that you were here when Andrew Krakouer kicked his first goal"...I hope he goes on to fill a gap when the likes of Knights, Broderick, Campbell have to retire in about 3 years.

Kicked another good goal in last nights bad loss the clever snap from the boundary. I hope he can develop into a player for us who can kick 50 in a year like a Farmer or Burns
