Did anyone on BF go?? It was at the Astor Theatre StK last night. PACKED HOUSE !! Being a multimedia student from another school I was quite impressed.

Here are my findings:

AM/PM Very clever story with plastacine art, the props and movements were top notch **** (four stars)

Black Forest: Wasn't my kind of flick...seem to drag, repeat scenes of a tubby female in underwear doesn't appeal.
I was however impressed with the composed music chosen. **

DISTURBING SUBURBIA: Interesting plot about a dinner party with mental illness tendencies of the six characters. I was hoping to see some footage involving Roni and the doctor...two visits a week ?? Dark comedy had it's moments... ***

HELMET CRAB: Outstanding editing was the only great feature to this film. The storyline wasn't interesting enough for my liking.
**

LARRY THE PHILOSOPHICAL COW: A classic !! Funny Funny Funny
if anyone remembers Beefa Bear on The Comedy Company (Ch10)
then this one takes a leaf from that book IMO.
I just want to see the other installments : Tim the Irate Pig and Alex the Drunken Horse. *****

THe Match Girl: This film was clever in the way that options to twist the storyline any which way, as drifting in and out of a dream and lighting up the reality message in the process.
****

Morning: Why is it that camping seems to play the background to a tragic storyline? I enjoyed this one for other reasons but overall it was basic footage shot that needed alot of help in the editing suite to find the concept of the storyline. ***

Recollection: A very slick edited mix of flashback moments reflecting the nightclub lifestyle. No real story here. **

SHOE: The cartoon animations were quite demonstative that captured the plot toward the end. ***

SON OF A BUM: Somehow a sequel can become of this story, quite hilarious throughout with an eccentric old man's antics definately entertaining the masses in the theatre. *****

Charlotte: Interesting how a child thinks. I enjoyed the concept of the student-teacher relationship storyline that envisages infatuation in a natural way. ****

Hope you enjoyed the festival @ the Astor.
