Apperently there are number of teams that are keen to draft Callum Burgess, what interests me is how many of those teams would draft him if he is available.

Allow me explain. If for instance I am Essendon or Collingwood and I wanted to draft Brock Mclean for instance. Now I also know that WC is also keen on him but there is also a rumour going around that WC are trying to hide Callum Burgess.

Now knowing that WC is keen on Callum, Essendon and Collingwood then realease mis-information that they too are keen on Callum, and therefore forcing WC to use an earlier pick and improve their chances of drafting Brock Mclean.

Whilst I am not suggesting that Essendon and Collingwood are jointly conspiring against WC. However they are both using a similier tactic to imprve their odds of landing their preferred player.

What do you think?

Maybe the eagles are talking up Burges so that other clubs think more of him and allow a McClean to slip through.
Seriously, I agree that there are sly tactics and a great deal of misinformation being spread around.
P.S. By the way Bradley and Ray are useless. So please don't pick them. We'll have them!

Absolutely...and I guess I am trying to get this sort of discussion happening...ie what information is really mis information...

Realistically if you have a later pick then there is not much you can do until it's your turn. You then have 5 to 10 mins to make a choice. I think misinformation is something the fans revel in and not so much the football managers. They have excellent scouts out there nowadays and it's hard to not know what is going on.
I remeber talking to Dodoro about Marty McGrath 2 years ago. Marty had played 16's and only the last two games and was not chosen in the 18's and also missed a lot of S.Freo Colts games. Dodoro was extremely interested to rehash this player who really had gone to obscurity. essendon didn't pick him up but Richmond did. So they know whats going on out there ( thats my point in a long way)

West Coast won't use their highest pick on Burges...they'll hope he falls lower and hope they can snatch both him and McLean
