Pick 16 - Beau Waters
Pick 29 - David Trotter
Pick 45 - Nick Potter
Pick 47 - Shane Morrison

Anything there that is unlikely to be possible?

Pick 16 - tick.

One of the next few make eventuate but you guys really need a tall. I think you will look at McConnell/Murphy/Spencer etc with 29.

I reckon that if Trotter is there at #29, we will go for him.

We are looking for a premiership or two within 3 years. Talls will not start to make an impact straight away, so I'm thinking we'll focus on midfielders (another deficiency that we can more quickly fix). We also have Roberts-Thomson, Meiklejohn, Powell, Dempster and James in various stages of development. The problem isn't that we need talls - we just need to wait while they develop. Getting Morrison at #47, I suspect, will round out that young group of talls reasonably well.

16 - Waters - unlikely - quite sure he will go between 9 and 12
29 - Trotter - no - he will go 10-18
45 - Potter - big chance
47 - Morrison - doubt it

It's so hard to say after the first round, because clubs drafting for need to grab someone ten to fifteen picks earlier than they're expecetd to go. I think Morrison will probably still be there at 47 - but there will be other teams besides Sydney looking to grab him with their last pick. You should be able to get close to Waters - he won't go 9 - 12 but he will go 12 - 16, so it will depend on how the cards fall.

At #14 and #15, Adelaide and Port will almost definitely be going for talls so if he slips to 14, Beau could easily be at Sydney.

Pick 45 or 47 will be a smokey that has never been mentioned anywhere on this or any other Board. Unless of course he is taken by some other Club before then and that is highly unlikely.

He won't slip to 14.

Porthos, it appears the Crows are very keen on Watts, which tall do you think Port will go for?

Kepler Bradley - less than zero chance
Troy Chaplin - no chance
Fergus Watts - little chance
Billy Morrison - some chance, but Crows pick first
David Mundy - probably around, but we already have Gilham.
Will Gayfer - some chance. I can see why most Phantom drafts have him going to Port.
Chris Stewart - no chance if he's got the work ethic rumored.

Michael Johnson, Michael Pettigrew, Matthew Spencer, Llane Spaanderman - it may be a bit early to pick any of these blokes.

Ideally Chaplin would drop somehow, but while I'm wishing, can we have Cooney?

Both Adelaide and Port, particularly Port, will be going for local boys in the first instance unless there is a much better option from interstate.

A good tall from interstate will suit our needs a lot more than a good small defender/midfielder from SA that early on. That said, if there's a rush on talls before our pick, then we probably will go for best available player.

Port, along with Fremantle, WCE, Essendon, Hawthorn and Richmond have expressed an increased level of interest in Matthew Moody, so if available, I wouldn't be surprised to see him to go to Port at 15.
