Don't like the "Fuzzy Cuzzy!"
Hope Santa is nice enough to bring him a razor for Christmas.
I think its absolutely fantastic. The moment I saw it, I was prouder than ever to be an Eagle's supporter.
Our captain has gone from your classic, pretty boy Shane Crawford wannabe to looking like somebody who should be holding up the Oodanatta Town Bank. Shows grit, guts, and determination, and a total disregard for his physical appearance. Interestingly enough, couldn't help but notice that Kerr has also sworn off the razor.
Cuz, if you're reading this, show some minerals. Stick with it until it reaches at least Rasputin like proportions.

I can still remember seeing David Hynes (with goatee) for the first time and thinking he was just the sort of evil bastard we needed. Trouble was, he wasn't that evil at all.

Always a supporter of the full beard look.
They should all grow full beards and long hair.
Especially Quinten Lynch.
We haven't had a classic full beardie at the Eagles for ages - the oft forgotten David Hynes sported one in his first few years (more of a fly-away goatee), Lewie sported one for a bit, but he wasn't really noted for it.
I'm pretty sure Gastev and Zanotti were clean shaven at the Eagles, so we missed out on them.
A few cheesy mo's too like Laurie Keene, Murray Rance and Andy Lockyer, but generally, we've been short changed on facial hair as a club.
If Fuzzy Cuzzy (love the name!) keeps it, a welcome return, but if he has it in round 1, I'll be suprised.

I havent actually seen the pictues yet of Fuzzy Cuzzy just yet but Im proud of him :D Doubt he'll have it come round 1 though.
It was pretty funny though when I was at work and the 6 O'Clock news comes on and the sport section was all about Cousins sporting a new look. Slow day in sport or is Cuz too big a celebrity to go changing his look like that without documentation :D

Well we do live in Perth, and he is the biggest personality in our proud city according to recent polls. I can just see Basil Zempilas going 'Right! I got a scoop to end all scoops...wait for it...Ben Cousins hasn't shaved for a few weeks'. The Channel 7 News producer gives him the double thumbs-up and says 'Go for it!'
Well its cool and all but I doubt it will last more than a week or two. His girlfriend (sam isnt it?) will tell him to get rid of it, or his manager will or something and it will be gone. Get some pics while you can boys!

It's summer, let it all hang lose. Nothing wrong with letting your face go "scrape free" for a couple of months.
John Gastev was really the only Eagle I can remember who was known for his beard.

I spotted this line in that article. “This is not quite a beard, but I dunno mate, just taking it easy on holidays, having a laugh.” Now I don't know about anyone else, but I personally call that a beard.
However I agree it does make him a more evil looking bastard, so I'd support the retention of the beard :)

Irrespective of Cousins' merits as a player, and the list is long - I'm never likely to think of him as "evil".
Woosha on the other hand, was the epitomy of all that is dark and frightening in a player.

I said "more evil" not actually evil. Cuz would have to work pretty hard to gain an evil reputation after this long.
None of our players have "evil" reputations (Woosha needs to work on this), although Chad Morrison and Josh Wooden have fairly evil looking heads and Phil Matera's nose had to be the work of an evil entity.

I like it, has a certain 'anti calender boy' feel to it. Shun the glamour, rebel against the MFAS look. Nice. And while i'm more a fan of clean shaven, I doubt stubble rash is a problem from the 3 teir stand. The beard can stay. :)

The Eagles don't have enough mean looking bastards, so I'd like to see the rest of the boys follow in their captain's footsteps. They need more beards, tatts, shaved heads, and cigarette burns.
The beard doesn't work for him. Bluey McKenna - yes. Cuz - sorry mate.
Whilst it is anti-pinup boy in look the problem is (unfrotunately) the rest of the look is still very much pinup boy. The flick back hair is a classic. The ruggedness of the ol' bushranger just doesn't work with the blow dryed lock.*

Sadly Ozzult, you're probably right. Channell Basil is not known for its incisive sports journalism.
They're never afraid to tackle the soft issues. Parochial, lightweight, and very irritating.
Couldn't give a toss about the skipper's appearance - only interested in how he and the rest of the plays.
Anything else is irrelevant.
Times like these make me wish we had avatars.
