View Full Version : Congratulations Guy and Aus. Public
Whether you like Australian Idol or not... or Channel 10s in your face approach or not... I would just like to congratulate Guy Sebastion for winning the contest, he is definitely a deserving winner.
I would also like to congratulate the Australian Public for voting for talent and not pushing up another Scott Bain.
A special note for Shannon Noll who handle himself superbly and will no doubt do well for himself to follow on the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Jon Stevens, Lee Kernegan (sp) and others.
All the best to Guy in the World Idol competition and I think his R&B style will appeal to the American market. This would put him in a good position to take out World Idol and to make it also in the American industry.
Cheers again for Guy Sebastion.

The single is amazingly beautiful, though I know it doesn't compare to Mad World by Gary Jules.

Absolutely spot on there! I had never heard the original Tears For Fears version before. I was watching Donnie Darko and instantly loved the song. I went and downloaded it but accidently downloaded the original first and then had to look for the acoustic version. The acoustic version is far superior imo.
The most exciting thing I saw last night whilst watching AI was that mad porsche stretch limo!

I love the new single. That's probably coz I'm an 80s music guy.

Well done to the lad but I got to agree, the first single is wrong.
Should have gone with a tight little pop rocker, up-beat and "celebrating" his win, not some schmaltzy ballad that Delta forgot to record...
Even Guy hates the single!!!

Unfortunately for Guy (who does have some genuine music talent) by winning the competition takes away any artistic imput he may want to put into an album. The crappy (judging by the first one anyway) songs he'll have to record don't reflect him as a musician and hopefully he can have some major imput into another album.
Even though I dislike the concept of a glorified Karaoke competition voted on by a group of 8 to 14 year old girls, I hope young Guy can go on to bigger and better things.

I wanted Shannon to win, but realistically the best performer won. I didn't watch the final but I heard the young guy that beat boxes put on a little show, might've been worth seeing.
Agreed on the single sucking, though I heard 6 or 7 times today on the radio so it's sort of stuck in my head no matter how many times I blast an ACDC or Jimmy Barnes song. Ah well.

I think he is that unattractive, overweight guy, with a bad hairstyle, that appears everytime I switch over to channel 10 lately, lucky I have a fast trigger finger & switch it to SBS. :D

There is NO accounting for taste.
Oh well, as long as I reckon it rocks, and as long as you like that abomination of a song, then it's all good :p
As long as we're both happy then that's all that counts.
Although I still think you're far too involved with this Australian Idol thing. It will only end in tragedy.:D

Then maybe the 5 tickets I bought to the Australian Idol concert in Adelaide this morning at 9am was a mistake? :o

Yep, it was a whopper.
DB, if it's any consolation, during the series I hardly voted at all.
Macca, Nic, Destructive, I obviously wasn't the only one! The concert sold out by lunchtime here in Adelaide. It's a good thing I got up early to buy them online, I might have missed out and my mum and mates would have been ****ed at me.
P.S. Might have two spare tickets to Australian Idol Adelaide concert, Feb 4, Entertainment centre, good seats, PM me if interested. :D

Seats at any type of concert suck, it's just no fun unless you can get into a pit or something similar.

Australian Idol concert?
First you get sucked into ringing up to vote, then you pay for the bloody ridiculous commercial crap on the cd, and you also want to go to a concert put on by a bunch of egotistical wannabes who are happy to be paraded around by execs who can't get enough cash?
Forgive the long sentence but the idiocy warrants it. It's your money though. Waste it as you wish.

I got tix for the Melb concert, but then again I am a 15 y.o girl so its only expected.
May Guy Sebastian have a wonderful music career like Scott Cain and those other two groups - what were their names again?
The best news to come out of that show is that Courteney Act has been signed by BMG...apparently for a much larger sum than Guy...and she'll be releasing her album early next year:D
