View Full Version : Kepler Bradley

Hey. I was wondering, with all the recent press around Raph Clark being picked up by the Bombers or perhaps the Cats, what would be the odds of Kepler Bradley slipping through and getting to the Saints? He would be a great get for them. But at first he was top 2, then top 4, and now hes slipped right down. Can someone fill me in on that?
Well, I think the teams above the Saints are all looking for midfielders, so there's a fair chance of Bradley being available at pick #8.
I have a feeling the cats will take bradley if he is still available at pick 7, which i think he will be. If they don't take him maybe they will take dunn if he doesnt go earlier. I can remember reading somewhere that geelong will take the best remaining player in the draft with pick 7.
Because it is a safer option to take an established midfielder rather than an unknown package.
Cooney, Walker, Sylvia, Ray, Tenace and co look like they are going to be guns whereas Kepler is an unknown quanitity because of his characterstics.
Get it right with him and there is a massive cult superstar, if it doesn't work out you've wasted a top 10 pick with so many good midfielders available at that time.
The draft is a lottery, but you can plan for it ;)

What else are the Geelong officials supposed to say, "We're going to take our annual smokey"?
Kepler Bradley impresses me and personally, I'd love Geelong to snap him up with pick #7. Also, Fergus Watts, although he is notoriously known for his 'one-dimensional' style (marking his main attribute - which drags his ranking down considerably) would be very handy in my opinion. He seems like a bit of an intimidator (Barry Hall) and possibly a future leader...both of these elements should be of high consideration for Geelong, given our distinct lack of leadership and presence in the forward half of the ground.

It's a shame that McNeil didn't play Bradley as a onballer during the 18's. West Perth did the last time we played them, they beat us ( S.Freo) and Bradley until injured was brilliant as an onballer. After Kouta and Pav it shouldn't be too far fetched for us to believe that 6ft 4 can't rove.

I think Geelong will/should take him.
He is one of a kind.. why pass him up?!

He was only getting 20+ possessions 10 marks playing for West Perth seniors. Obviously can't play as he didn't do well in the TAC Cup. I'd leave him for the second round!!
Don't know why anyone would take into account that he's already played seniors when heplayed at the 18's (Although he did win the Larke medal too) Should be min top 4 pick.

Sorry tash but Bradley is going to Essendon.
If tenace is still available and sheeds picks bradley then he should be locked up. Why the **** do we keep wasting first round picks:confused:
Not ****ing happy if its bradley at six

The Bombers have said that they probably arent going to draft Bradley. HOW MANY YOUNG RUCKMAN DO YOU NEED??? Laycock, Cartledge, O'Keefe, Hille etc.

Fair comment dascman03 but this guy provides a lot more flexibility and options than any of those.

I agree totally although O'Keefe was given the arse last week. Tenace is the exact player we need. An inside midfielder with some genuine legspeed. Winderlich, Walsh, Rama, Reynolds are more wingers and flankers. Tenace is a genuine on-baller.
Bradley gives us nothing. We have bolton who is 195cms and runs all day.
We want quality on-ballers sheeds you mad irish bastard....pick one for **** sake

**** you don't call the club stupid they know more than u and Bradley will be good.
Very pleased we have him and other clubs don't. As for midfielders, we grabbed 3 so it's all good.
**** you don't call the club stupid they know more than u and Bradley will be good.
Yeah Shane harvey, d-mac, james davies some other first round gems we have picked up.
Tenace is a cant miss selection he will be a good player. Bradley's kicking skills are not good. And people say he could be another fletcher but he has nowhere near the speed of dustin.
Tenace is a geniune onballer with pace and we passed him up. Sheeds is a tool

You are just down because you made such a stupid bet. As for bagging Sheeds..some Essendon supporters really have no idea.
Have you seen tenace play pazza...have you seen bradley.
I couldnt give a flying F*CK about a bet. im ****ed off because tenace is more a need for us than bradley is.
Not seen enough of either of them, though Bradley's profile includes a Teal Cup best player for WA award and a premiership in the WAFL in the same year, so it tells me he's ready.
Read GOALden hawk's profile on Bradley..i agree with all of it
He needs at least 2 to 3 years in the gym. He could be anything....and thats the problem..if he comes off he could star..but he is just as likely to be another Mark Bolton.

Patience in all things. Bradley will not be another Bolton. 2, 3 years and he'll be gold.
And no one likes a show off but I told u Sheedy would look take Bradley if available.

GOALden hawk wouldn't know if his arse was on fire when it comes to WA talent. Bradley will play next year. Was Fletcher any bigger when he first played? Did he need at least 2 to 3 years in the gym?
Wake up to yourself you've got the best big man in the Draft who is that good he could rove to his own ruck work, have you got anyone else on your list who can do that?
Sheedy didn't get to be the legend that he is through being a ********.
WE NEED A GENUINE QUALITY CENTRE SQUARE MIDFIELDER WITH PACE!!!!!!!!
Tenace is exactly that..take bradley out of the equation. We get slaughtered outa the middle against fast teams. Bradley wont improve us in that area

Was just reading the results of the draft camp...it appears Stanton and Dyson have a similar speed to what Tenace has.
Pazza...stanton and dyson are wingers...Tenace is a inside midfielder.
I like nash at 28 he looks a good prospect.
Dyson is theft at 44

A bit harsh, Yak. You yourself have made several claims which didn't come true.
1. Fremantle would take Burges at 10
2. Freo would draft Duffield
3. Sydney would take an unheard of smokey at 45 or 47
Hmm, I think there were some others I can't think of right now. The point is you shouldn't be so quick so judge other people's opinions.

Carlton used Kouta. Freo use Pav. Why can't Ess use Bradley. This kid if you listen to all the WA posters can play on the ball. You are lucky to have him. If WCE were given the choice between Tenace and Bradley we know who would would oprefer regardless of where they live

Agree on Dyson...Dodoro should be charged on 2 counts of robbery..Allan for pick 60 and Dyson at pick 44

Winderlich, Walsh, ALvey, Stanton, Dyson, Bullen, Rama, Reynolds, good enough for now.
Bradley will improve us in that he'll be near impossible to match up on in a few years time and No he's not just another Bandy or Bolton he can play as well.

Very fair call.
I just reread my post I think I am trying to say is that you can play Bradley on the ball. He is also ready for AFL know. Another two years of weights and you will have even more of a player.
Nash was a brilliant grab at 28 too I agree there.
Nice to see that we can do that.

A few drinks and it will all seem well young man
Winderlich, Walsh, ALvey, Stanton, Dyson, Bullen, Rama, Reynolds, good enough for now.
Joe there all wingers and flankers apart from bullen and he isnt lightning.
Although i think Dyson and rama could with a couple of extra kgs make good On-ballers

Im heading out tonight to do just that..although a few drinks is an understatment:D

I'm with Marcuz, Bradley is a big punt, and Tenance would have been more sensible.
But we'll wait and see. I'd like to be proved wrong.

I can't think of many drafts where taking the best tall has backfired. I can't actually think of any.
2002 - Brennan
2001 - Polak
2000 - Riewoldt
1999 - Fraser
1998 - Longmuir
1997 - Gardiner

Exactly right Stevo - Tenace would have been the safe bet with 6. I would have thought our footy club would have learnt about first-round gambles by now. But as you said, I hope I am wrong.

The whole draft is a gamble...the sooner we get rid of it and return to zoning, where each club can have a direct role in developing of young kids, the greater the competition will be (one only has to look at the players Essendon got from it's zones over 30 years to illustrate the point).

The AFL will never do that. They're too caught up in promoting a national game. Zoning is basically just SOO/VFL all over again.

I think they should allow junior clubs to train/ allign with AFL clubs share facilities etc seems a waste that calder train a (where ever it is) few km's from Windy Hill Futguts Mcmahon suggested this a while back it would save grassroots footy a fortune.

I don't agree that I was a bit harsh on him sera maybe a tad intemperate. Having said that I owe you an explanation re the three points you have raised. 1. Lets just say that I was asked to post that and I'll leave the rest to your imagination. 2. I was reliably informed that Duffield would be taken, I have since been told that owing to the way things panned out it wasn't possible. 3. OK so I got the pick wrong, but as with the Duffield scenario it all depends on what happens on the day. The smokey Matt Davis was able to be taken at 59 but originally it was planned to do him at 47, the bottom line is that he was the biggest smokey in the Draft and none of the Phantom Draft experts knew anything about him and probably still dont.
I'm a little sad that you are no longer my number 1 fan.

What do you mean by that?
I was disappointed with GOALden for posting that Surjan and Burges would be drafted in mid second round and then saying he only did sp based on all the hype.
If you are suggesting that you posted Burges @ 10 based on somebody asking you to do so and not on your knowledge I would find that pretty disappointing too. I hope that you can provide some more information and explain your above comment as I and number of other people do value your judgement.
