Eagles team of the Century

We still have a bit to go before we can name our team of the century, but here's my progressive team:

FB: David Hart Ashley McIntosh Chris Waterman
HB: Guy McKenna Glen Jakovich John Worsfold
C: Peter Matera Dean Kemp Chris Mainwaring
HF: Brett Heady Mitchell White Chris Lewis
FF: Phil Matera Peter Sumich Chad Morrison
Foll: Michael Gardiner Ben Cousins Don Pyke
Bench: Drew Banfield Michael Brennan
Karl Langton David Wirrpunda
Coach: Mick Malthouse

Unlucky to miss: Tony Evans and Craig Turley

Wirrpunda and Morrison made it into the team on the fact that they have played really well and are still only young, Gardiner made it because we simply have never had a good ruckman before.

We have had a short history of only14.5yrs, but thats a pretty impressive team. But looking at that team, most of them are from our premiership years. They must of been a hell of a strong team back then and unlucky not to win premierships in 1990 and 91.

Maybe call it the team of the Century, minus 85 years!
Great team it is, imagine if that was our line-up now, all in there prime. We would be invincible. Evans is defiantely unlucky to miss out, along with Turley, maybe they could be listed as emergencies:)

you've no idea how old that makes me feel, that there are people here who can only speculate on how good we were in those days, instead of just remembering it.

I wouldnt change a thing, pretty darn good team. I would dare to say that in another 85 years Kemp, Woosha, Jako, Matera, McIntosh, Bluey, Lewis, Mainy, Cousins, Gardiner and Wirrpunda will still probably be in that team.

We have had some absolutly awesome players in our short history!
