View Full Version : Nick Stevens again
Now Nick is declaring himself proud to be a Blue and saying that he never nominated any particular club. What the hell does he mean by that? Does he mean that Port are lying or, as I suspect, is he using the literal truth in that Max Stevens told us on his behalf. I'm really beginning to warm to the idea of bribing the Bulldogs to take him instead of Jade Rawlings in the pre-season draft. I can understand the homesickness and the family ties but to lie so that the club that went out of its' way to nurture his skills is portrayed as the villain is the act of a grade-A bastard.

Yes, we know he's lying scum. He's obviously doing this so he can seem more Carlton, and I think this sort of statement succeeds in doing that in more ways than one.

I am sick of Nick and Max Stevens using any media opportunity to sling barbs at Port Adelaide and basically accuse the club of lying about Nick's intentions in trade week. Port have stated they have written documentation about Nick's intentions - then publish it. Give it to Rucci, he'll run the story - he's been less than complimentary about Nick and Max thru this whole affair - in fact leading up to it. It's about time the club got on the front foot and made a public declaration about who is in fact telling porkies here.

Nick Stevens we will never forget you. But Unfortunately for you, its for all the wrong reasons.
You would of thought it was better just for him to just keep his mouth shut.
Any bets he misses the Port match at Football Park through injury or suspension?

“Not once did I say what club I wanted to come to. I just wanted to come back and play footy in Melbourne,” he said.
[From the artical on official AFL website]
Nick, either youe a lying bastard, or your manager is getting his pockets lined by not looking after your best interests.

I think Nick is just playing with words, he notified the club my email, so Nick is correct in his own thinking.
Nick is a good footballer but he has **** for brains!

How about you learn how to type intelligently?
Btw, I heard him on 5AA yesterday afternoon. You could tell KG & Cornsey wanted to say more but they were too polite. Damnit. "I never nominated a club. I always wanted to go somewhere like Carlton" - shutup. If you did, you would have accepted the deal. Man I hate him. Absolute scum.
SUNDAY JULY 11 - Counting down the days  (227 to go :p)
Funny how not much was said about Byron Pickett going home last year.
I'm just making a devil's advocate point, I know you will say Anthony Rocca this blah blah blah, it's just weird how some players get away with it and some don't. Oh and hi to Nick Davis as well

Remember earlt on in trade week how Carlton was his number 1 choice then all of a sudden changed to Collingwood. He played it smart. He was always going to go to Carlton but didn't want them to give up the number 2 pick. Port just couldn't see that and PowerGirl36 he wont be counting days until his contract expires because in 4 years Carlton will be a premiership threat.

Or is that that water off a duck's back for a Carlton supporter?

Unlike Collingwood, Port has never been accused of trying to get players for nothing.
You are not going to come here and start doing that now are you?

I read somewhere about a possible 4 year contract. Typical Carlton.
Use all their money (and then some) on a few players that aren't necessarily worth it, and then players like Hamill are forced to leave because of it.

Natahn Brown is getting $550k a year and Nick Stevens is getting $450k a year. If i had to choose out of these two i know who id chose.

We aren't overpaying someone because Richmond is.
Cmon now that is hardly an argument ;)

Well i agree with u. Kouta and Stevens are overpaid and thats why we dont have a good list because we dont have enough money for other players like Hammil. If the CFC thinks were going somewhere in the next couple of years then they can think again until we stop overpaying our players.
And no one in the comp is worth $500k+. Look at Brisbane they'd only dream of that much money and thats why theyre so succesful.

No. Carlton supporters will think nothing of gaining Nick Stevens for free but their blood will continue to boil everytime they see Aaron Hamill.
Just as Port supporters probably aren't too sympathetic with Essendon getting only Daniel McAlistair in return for Gavin Wanganeen. ;)

Makes up for getting Lloyd when Freo took Delaney or whoever I guess. Can't win all the compensation lotteries ;)

Johnson for Cummings might have been part of it.

Oh yeah, definitely. I can totally see your way of thinking. I'd much rather go to Carlton and Richmond and not see the light of day in the finals for the next five years! Huzzah!

Draft concession, so it can't even be brought up. It's like how the Essendon fans go on about Freo had a shot at Lloyd, when they had no choice whatsoever. When a team uses their concessions upon entering the league, do they have to apologise?

look, everyone just needs to stop being so hypocritical because these are the facts-
EVERY club will have a player leave them at least once - i had to go through the nick davis crap, carlton with hamill, cats with colbert, port with stevens etc.
so NO-ONE has the grounds to have a go at these port supporters who hate stevens.
Especially you carlton gimps seeing as u still cry yourselves to sleep over hamill so get a life or a new friggin argument

If that's true then i dont have a problem. Unfortunately it isn't. Stevens wanted to go to Collingwood, collingwood didn't come to the party (or didn't actually rate him) and thus Port were left with nothing because he wouldn't go to Melbourne and was happier going to Carlton & know Port would get nothing. Again all that is sort of fine, but then to say that he never said he wanted to go to collingwood is just making him sound like a total ****. Will enjoy Byron running straight through him.
