View Full Version : Roy & HG
I reckon these 2 blokes are hilarious. They were sensational in the Dream, The Ice Dream, and recently the Cream and the Carnival. And They're great on triple J.
Bring back the Monday Dump, I say.
Anyone in favour?

Hit and miss. Roy Slaven is better at his caper than John Doyle is though.

I've always been a fan of Roy & HG. So for me it's a case of......the more the better.

I'm a big fan of Roy and HG, I think they are always great value. However, I think it's fair to say that they have never reached the height they were at in the first week of The Dream in 2000. That was THE best show on TV by a mile, I still watch the videos and laugh as hard as I ever did.

Bring back the Monday Dump, I say. Won't happen coz of Talking Footy. But they r looking for something new next year - and they'll have another Dream type thing at the Olympics. The Monday Dump didn't really work IMO.

I like that they're so easy to avoid.

Agreed that they won't do the Monday timeslot due to Talking Footy. I've heard Tuesday or Wednesday will be filled with a new sports program - The Fatter (the guys from the ABC show).
However, Roy and HG will be in Athens for the Greek Dream in August.

The Fat's annoying host, Tony Squires, is the one who's signed with Seven.

I'd love to see Roy and HG have a regular show, I always get a good laugh from them. :D
Especially during the Olympics, The Dream was just brilliant.

I think they did their best work on The Dream and The Ice Dream (2002 winter olympics) - their ice-skating commentary was hilarious! :D :D
I didn't find their RWC show, "The Cream" as funny but they still came up with some funny bits, like their idea for an Australian haka :D
A long time ago I've laughed out loud at "this Sporting Life" on radio and their first ABC TV venture (forget the name). but even the Dream wore thin on forced toilet hmour and after that.....zzzzzzzzzz.
