Thanx dee_girl9,
It was a good game for the Doggies, and I hope that Round 22 is nothing like the last time we met in the last round!!! (1987 at Western Oval, Robbie Flower running rampant...oh, the pain..). Melbourne obviously have the core of a very good side and should have a good season overall IMO.
Hoping that Jeff White & Daniel Ward can shrug off their injuries, as they are in my Fantasy Football side ;)

Good point about the loss in '87 being hard to take. But as life goes on and the more I think about it, it was one of the greatest games I've been to. Just to see Flower play in that last 1/4 was a privilege. I don't think I've ever seen a team and a player want to win a game so much. One mark he took floating in front of a pack containing Kennedy and Foster at the Barkly Street end was so brave and brilliant that even the doggies supporters were standing and cheering.

Thanks from me too, dee. I was at the last match in '87 and remember telling a Demon supporter standing next to me at the scoreboard end that the Hawks (or was it Geelong?) were winning at Kardinia Park which meant the Demons wouldn't make the finals. I had the radio switched to that match and the commentators said time was nearly up so the Demon supporter left the ground thinking the Demons wouldn't be in the finals. When that matched finished and the Demons DID make the finals I tried to find the Demon supporter, but he was gone. I still feel guilty to this day! Robbie Flower was always one of my favourite non-Footscray players. He was all class, both on and off the field. And I loved that someone as blind as me could play footy so well!
