View Full Version : A call-up for the Mighty Dickie Bird....
It would be fine touch if he were to get a call-up for the Sydney Test Match, Waugh's final test match and what would turn out to be a tremendously memorable one.
So I say BRING BACK DICKIE, for one last Hoorah to celebrate cricket and celebrate Steve!

On the subject of umpires, who is doing this series. Better not be Tiffin or De Silva. Dickie Bird would still be 10x better than they are.

Rudi Koetzen is out here. Don't know about the others.
1st Test: Koertzen, Bucknor
2nd Test: Koertzen, Shepherd
3rd Test: Shepherd, Bowden
4th Test: Bucknor, Bowden
One Dayers: Koertzen, Bucknor
Bowden is a crackwhore. One of the weirdest characters in world cricket in a long time...
Gimme a break. I'm sick of all of these pompus, stereotypical umpires, that follow the trend and wouldnt dare to be different. It's about time theres someone that brings a little life into umpiring, and as well as being a genuine character and nice bloke, form what i've seen during and since the world cup his decision making has been first class.

I like him! I wasn't making a judgement, just always seems like he's on drugs... I agree that a bit of animation from both players and officials has been lacking for some time...
...and I don't mean animation like Brett Lee celebrating a tail end wicket as if it was Bradman he had just bowled... Brett Lee is a knob.

Fair enough...my mistake. Mis-understood your comment.

There are 10 wickets to be taken, each one just as important as the other 9. We don't have worry about how YOU would react to taking a test wicket, it won't happen.

At least Bowden is umpiring Waughs last test match here. Should be a real hoot.
