This coming saturday, I'm hosting a trivia nite for my cricket club which should be attended by around 120-150 people. This audience will be a mixture of Life Members, Sponsors, Senior Players & their partners PLUS the parents of the junior players.

Now, I am going to burn some mixed CD'S to play before the night starts and during the breaks etc and I already have a fair idea of what stuff I am going to use. However, I would like to know what stuff you would use if you were in my position ???

A couple on my list are Chicane, Fatboy Slim, This Mortal Coil & Moby with the songs chosen by these artists being a little more laid back than the full on big beat sort of stuff.

So there you go - give me an 18 song mixed CD to that you would create and play on the night based on the types of people that are attending ??

I've run a few in the past, Sheik, even a couple for the cricket club - and what I normally do is have a bunch of old TV tunes in between rounds. You know, all of that quirky stuff from the 60's and the 70's like The Flintstones, Bewitched, Hawaii 5-0 and Gilligan and stuff.

As silly as it sounds, it works well at a triv night, especially in a large group like that that have a vast mixture of musical tastes. You can please some of the people some of the time .....

You could probably download a bunch of them off Kazaa or something, or hell even buy a "TV's Greatest Hits" type CD, probably for under 20 bucks. I picked up a set of them free with a Rolling Stone subscription about 10 years ago ... but you could download whatever you want nowadays.

Good luck, Ghost

How about 10CC Dreadlock Holiday

I don't like cricket, oh no.
I love it.

Or maybe a bit of Nine Inch Nails - Closer would go down a treat in the family environment.
