Read in The Age recently, an article by Rohan Connoly:
"That morning, I witnessed another "spray" that said a lot about just how the culture of football clubs has changed over that time.
Geelong best-and-fairest Matthew Scarlett, one of the obvious leaders of this generation of Geelong players, had the previous week quietly chided one of the Cats' most junior players about turning up late to training. His young teammate, in effect, had told him to mind his own business.
In 1988, barely an eyebrow would have been raised. But this was serious stuff. New assistant coach Daryn Cresswell, clearly agitated, sprang to his feet, said he had been stewing over the matter for days, decided something had to be said and let the young Cat have it in front of an audience of nodding teammates. The chastened kid said he had apologised to Scarlett; now, even more chastened, he apologised to the entire group."
And the question, any one know who this anonymous 'most junior' player was?!
