We picked up 3 players and i reckon we did bloody well.
Adam Grocke (North Adelaide) - KPP player who performed very well early in the year. 19 or so.
Salim Hassan (West) - We all know him. Good pick up!
Dale Ellis (WWT) - GOod young KPP player who played most of the year in the SANFL WWT Seniors side at CHF.
Surprisingly, Craig Parry missed out on getting drafted!

Would've liked a ruckman but very happy with the suicidal maniac.

Please toss Ellis back. Or else find him a new SANFL club.

Adam Grocke – Selection no. 13 2003 Rookie Draft
From: North Adelaide
Position: Tall forward
Born: 18/7/1984
Height: 191.3cm
Weight: 88kg approx
Alan Stewart says: “Played centre half forward for North Adelaide’s league side this year and played some excellent games early but was hampered by an ankle problem later in the year. Showed enough ability in the SANFL to be a consideration for us and hopefully can turn out to be key position player for us down the track.”
Salim Hassan – Selection no. 29 2003 Rookie Draft
From: West Adelaide
Position: small utility
Height: 178cm
Weight: 76kg
Age: 21
Alan Stewart says: “An exciting livewire who had a promising first year at West Adelaide in 2003 playing on ball and up forward.”
Other: Born in Russia, moved to country Victoria at age six unable to speak English. Has been told he is too small for football in past but came to prominence for West in 2003 particularly in the Preliminary Final when he effectively tagged Hayden Skipworth (Eagles) and took a courageous mark that knocked him off his feet and put him in doubt for the Grand Final the following week.
Dale Ellis – Selection no. 44 2003 Rookie Draft
From: Woodville-West Torrens
Position: Tall forward
Height: 194.8cm
Alan Stewart says: “Had a promising season with Woodville-West Torrens and is a high-marking, mobile key position player.”

I think that was a rather harsh comment...no need to discount all WWT players. :p As has been stated earlier, he has shown much promise as a key position player which isn't easy, and this is exactly what Port needs, a young fresh player who will be able to perhaps fill a spot in defence in the future.
(Yes that was lame, but I have no idea who this Ellis fella is :( )

Yeah, that all looks OK, though its a shame Parry got overlooked.

Shane Brueur I think was the last WWT player we had.
As for the rookie draft three players who will no doubt benefit from training with us next year and hopefully get on the list in 2005. Cannot see any of them playing next year.

Well done to Port for picking up Adam Grocke, this kid is great, a very solid lad, who despite almost having his career derailed by Darel Hart kept his head down and his bum up.
After he played some great early games Harty tried to move him into every different position on the ground which also coincided with an injury.
He's got a great head on his shoulders, his family are very involved in footy, his mum Margaret is the head trainer at North and also works in the office, weirdly though despite all the Grocke boys and dad barracking for the Crows (theres 3 brothers), Margaret barracks for Port in the AFL so is over the moon!
Good luck Adam and well done Port, a great pic!!!

He was no 50 for us just in case any of you Port fans made it to SANFL games this year.
Here's some pics of him. Since then he's put on a heap more muscle.
