Does anyone know if it has been released in Australia yet? I can't find it anywhere. I know it has been released in America with the edits in it, but I don't know if it has here or not.

Anyone...?

I've just looked up a couple of sites and it's not listed on DVD.

I saw it in a video shop in downtown Chicago last month but it was a bit pricey - US $25 if I remember correctly. Is our version subtitled? ;)

It is on my Christmas wish list along with 'Lantana' and 'The Dish' which were also at that video shop. I know I'm getting 'The Dish' since I actually took it off of the shelf and handed it to my niece while she was working at a different video shop and I told her I wanted it! With her discount it was only about US$14. I had to take a train and the CTA up to a cinema in the far northern Chicago suburbs to see the film when it came out here. It was only shown in an "artsy" cinema here! I also had to travel there to see 'Lantana'.

Not released in Australia on DVD as yet, which is a real shame.

Not released here, and won't be.

The Working Dog people gave up the rights, and have no interest in getting them back, despite the allure of plenty of cash (obviously have more then enough).

So far i haven't succumbed to the crappy R1 release (it's vegemite, yanks), but am getting fed up with the tv stations consistently editing out Dennis DeNuto's spiel about the photocopier.

A couple of weeks back, when it was on TV, they even blanked out the part where Dennis writes f*cking brilliant on the piece of paper. It ruins the movie.

Well, it's finally coming out in R4 land on August 19.

Extras are to be confirmed, but it's called the "Poolroom Edition", so with any luck it has a commentary.

Appears this version will be the works too, a legitimate Special Edition.

Apparently Working Dog bought the rights back, and we all know how good their dvd's are (The Best of The Late Show, The Dish).

Looking forward to replacing my ****ty barebones R1 version.

Thats brilliant, cant wait to watch it in all its glory!

It seems a few more legendary Aussie movies are coming out on DVD. Now I really, really want Gallipoli.

Totally agree on that DeNuto photocopy line, one of the funniest in the movie.

The Late Show DVD is still the best one I have bought, let's hope this lives up to it.
