Were you glad you got Kane Tenace at #7 or were you hoping Kepler Bradley would slip through?

Peronally I think you got a real bargain, I was hoping we (Ess) would get him at #6.

Absolutely wrapped to have him at Geelong. He was an absolute steal at number seven, and I don’t think we could believe our luck when he slipped through.

He’s got great credentials, so let’s hope we see them come to the fore in the upcoming seasons.

IMO TenACE would have gone at 2 or 3 if he didn't have a poor finals series. I was hoping that the Blues would take him. TenACE kinda reminds me of McLeod. Both have fast acceleration and top speed, aren't afraid to run with the ball and both hardly ever miss a target. I can't believe he slipped through to 7th he will be a good get for the Cats.

Tenace at pick 7 is an absolute bargain considering he was touted as a possible pick 2 at many stages in the year. Can't wait to see him tearing up opposition midfields in seasons to come.

...TenACE...

Something wrong with your keyboard?

I'm glad we got Tenace as opposed to Bradley, because we already have enough players who can play in the ruck.... King, Chambers, Loats and Blake.

I would have been happy with either.

As it turns out, we got Kane...and I'm pretty satisfied with him thus far (and yes, i know he hasn't even played a game ;))

same as me seb. I would have been happy with Keplar but I'm over the moon with Tenace. I just really didn't think he would still be available at 7.

I think back to last year when we missed Salopek by one pick after he was touted as a clear top three choice, so i'm glad Kane didn't get away this year.

Imagine Tenace, Salopek, Bartel, Kelly and Corey in the midfield in 5-6 years time. Now that would have been Brisbane Lions material :)

Ablett, Kelly, Ling, Bartel, Tenace

Brisbane-esque as it is, mate ;)

I think you did very wel picking Tenace instead of Bradley, you also got Mat Spencer who kicked Bradleys butt every time they have played on each other.

I'm all for the galss being half full, but whatever drugs you're taking, lemme have some, please.

You have to get 3 Brownlows and countless All-Australian guernseys out of this quintet in the next 5 years. Chances of that happening are as remote as the US discovering life on Mars.

If these five can drag the Cats into the top half of the competition on a regular basis by 2006, then they've probably exceeded all reasonable expectations.

Jesting, mate. BigFooty is full of it ;)

Anyhow, I wouldn't underestimate the few i mentioned; Kelly, Ling and Ablett definitely have healthy futures ahead, IMO.

Sadly for us though, I can't see any monumental changes occurring (on the field) until Thompson hands the reigns over to another coach.

I think Tenace was an excellent selection and one of those rare right player for the right club selections.
He was troubled with an injury towards the end of the season which slowed his performance in the finals however, I think he will do well for the Cats.
He also wont take long to become a senior player. Should play some senior games this season and become a regular in 2005.
