I'm sure this has been done before but couldn't find it in the search.

Who is your favourite actor, and what film of theirs is your favourite? Mine:

Male - Kevin Spacey(American Beauty)
Female - Andie MacDowell(Groundhog Day)

He'd be my second favourite. Probably on the strength of The Green Mile. Awesome performance.

Actor: Ed Norton Jnr with the great Leslie Nielsen right up there.
Actress: if just on acting, probably one of the three Aussie chicks (Blanchette, Kidman, Watts) although Watts is the most boofable of the three.

Incredible and versatile.

Always been a big fan of Jack Nicholson also.

Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Johnny Depp, Russel Crowe are all up there for me too.

Favourite actress goes to Nicole Kidman. Her expressions, maneorisms and versatility impress me.

Edward Norton & Robert De Niro.

I don't really have a fav female actress.

I wouldn't watch a movie just because a certain actress was in it, where as I will always watch movies if the above two actors are in them, I have never been disappointed yet.

Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly. Their performances in Requiem were outstanding. It is okay to base this on only one movie, right?

This is too hard. I love De Niro, Robert Duvall, Pacino, Ed Norton.

But one person I will mention is Johnny Depp because he is a very versatile actor and in this day and age it's quite rare, although I don't love all of his film choices. I think he deserves some credit as he hasn't always gone for the 'big' hollywood type, blockbuster films and instead has done some great work, as he does pick some unusual roles.

John Cusack has never made a bad movie has he? I just love anything he is in. Films like One Crazy Summer, Identity, High Fidelity, Serendipity, Runaway Jury, Pushing Tin, Being John Malkovich, Eight Men Out, Grosse Point Blank, Better Off Dead. What a hero!

Also a big fan of Matt Damon, Good Will Hunting is a classic, awesome in Rounders and Saving Private Ryan.

As for an actress, anything Rachael Weisz and Meg Ryan are in is usually pretty good.

I should give De Niro's right hand man Joe Pesci credit too. Denzel Washington is a class act, especially the way he tackles real life stories like Malcolm X and Ruben Carter and succeeds.

My favourite male actor would probably be out of Orlando Bloom - Legolas is my favourite LOTR character, and he was very good in Ned Kelly, Owen Wilson - The Haunting, Shanghai Noon/Knights, and maybe Johnny Depp, because he was so good in Pirates of the Carribean. Eric Bana is also there, even just because he has good taste in footy teams!

As for the actresses, I like Jennifer Anniston, I've had a pretty serious crush on her since I first saw an episode of Friends, but Naomi Watts is very good too (The Ring is a personal favourite movie of mine).

Jim Carrey.

After his first few OTT roles like Ventura and the mask, he looked like being another Pauly Shore, but after movies like the Truman Show and Man on the Moon he has shown great diversity.

I reckon Billy Bob thornton's allright as well as George Clooney.

Of the gal's Rene Zelwegger's pretty good, ditto Rachel Wiesz.
