View Full Version : Official Fantasy Footy Thread
OK, time to make some decisions.
First one. What will our name be? The name must have some reference to Geelong, it doesn't have to be a direct reference but something which clearly distinguish it as the Geelong team.
Suggestions?
Also, who'd like to be Vice Captain? I will take on the Captaincy, if people don't mind. But the VC will choose the side when I am unavailable, such as when I have Uni assignments due etc. They will also help me pick the side etc.
Nominations?
The last detail will be such minor things as our 'Ground' name. Something like the Cattery etc. Something with a reference to Geelong will suffice.

Even though I'm not in your side, or even support Geelong for that matter, you gave me the idea for a Fremantle Fantasy Footy Side so I'd like to make a suggestion for Captain. (we've got everything assigned already!)
Rizzo spends a lot of time on these types of boards and from expierience with him on the BWF (Bigfooty Wrestling Federation) has been a keen person among everything and I'd like to nominate him for a Captain's position!

Geelong Gumbies works for me.
As for vice-captain, i'd suggest you select the person Joel, that way you can select the person you see as the most reliable.

Yeah, I think I might choose the Vice Captain myself, but I would need to know people's level of interest in it before I choose. I don't want to select someone who doesn't want it, not that there is much responsibility that goes with it!

Our ground name could be named after a host of sponsors, taking the p*ss out of what's happened with Kardinia Park over the last few years.
I like the Pivotonians or Gumbies for our nickname.

Yes, for this season anyway.
One problem that has arisen is that the trading period format requires all players to confirm their commitment to the Geelong side. Now, how on earth could we do that. People come and go all the time, here one day, gone the next. It will be impossible.

I think he decided to stay with the Wonders (the team a few of us left when Catman decided to start a Geelong based team).
im happy to play like i said AGES ago, but i have put my name down on the board, so if sum1 wants me or takes me ill be playing for them.

GeeCat, the trading period has opened. No idea when it closes or when the league starts. Once I get more info on how the whole trading period works, then I can't give you an answer. Stay tuned though.

I still read the Geelong Board on occasion and might post every now and then, but am more of a reader then poster these days.
