Why do little sycophantic morons come here continually to try and bag the Geelong supporters, and try to make it seem like we have little if no intelligence/dignity?

I don't like this perception that has built up of Geelong supporters, just **** off whoever you are.

Then you have about as much footy knowledge as Suzi Olsen.
How the hell can you list a current All-Australian in a list of 8 worst players ?

Run along and play in heavy traffic.

I thought I'd help you out for your next poll.
Here's the 8 players you could nominate as Geelong's best player :
Paul Chambers
Daniel Foster [future brownlow medalist]
Henry Playfair
David Johnson [the new Akermanis]
Gumby [future star CHF ] :p
James Rahilly [the next Michael Voss ]
Will Slade
David Spriggs

p.s I haven't included any newbies

New moderation policy? First I've heard of it.

It just annoys me, 3/4s of the posters (Geelong supporters) seem to be completely oblivious to all the flak they're copping.

The reason I read all but don't post much here. I reckon (without naming names) that 1/2 of the "Geelong supporters' that post here are having a lend.

Good luck to them, whatever gets you off. If that includes whinging about being booted off a board for trolling......

You're excused - JJ, P&P, Scouse, Jimboy, Seb, Scarlett Pimp, Doug, Idiot. More to be added in an edit if I can think. I wish Sue would post here.

This poll is a **** and completely pointless.

What gets me, is that the person who started this poll and thread lists Kane Tenace-- who has yet to play a home-and-away game for the Cats.

So there's no telling if he's among the worst Geelong players-- or the best, for that matter.

Says it all, really...

That's because there isn't one. Threads like this, which is just a simple troll should be locked or deleted imo. Otherwise people do respond, call them a ******** etc, which is exactly what the original poster wants. If the original poster keeps posting trolling threads then they should be banned from the Geelong board and suspended from the whole site. However if a opposition wants to post a legitimate issue, even if deliberately incendiary, such as "geelong will never go anywhere with the new crop of players coming through", then I am all for them doing so. I want the hard questions asked, not some piece of fluff.

Absolutely, and there's nothing stopping any of us asking the tough questions about our club either, especially when the season starts.

I agree,so why hasn't this thread been deleted/locked by a moderator?
I've nothing against opposition supporters starting sensible topics on this board [i.e Asgardians player review],but this one is either a troll or a complete thickhead [i'm leaning towards the 2nd choice].

I know what you're saying JUBJUB, but the last thing we want is to delete/lock every second thread that gets posted on here. Most people realise what topics are a troll and not to be taken seriously, and by putting the thread starter in their place like we've done in this thread, (within the rules of course) Sante2003 will think twice before posting crap on here in the future. Obviously if it gets out of hand then there's 3 of us around to tidy it up, but so far it's pretty harmless, especially during the off-season.

If we deleted every thread started by a "thickhead" and every thread deemed stupid, there wouldn't be much left.

I find it ironic that people are condemning the thread starter for being stupid, yet the same people reply to his musings.

Time to develop a thicker skin people.

And what do you think should be done about those who deliberately evade the swear filter?

To delete this thread would be a severe case of over-moderation, which when done in the past, has only caused more problems.

I wasn't condemning the thread starter, more so the average Geelong board poster - or the Geelong supporters.

Sorry Seb, comment wasn't aimed at you.

I do hear you about the supporters though. It's a sad fact that for every Seb and Sue, we have ten trogladytic supporters.

Nothing we do about it, except take the deserved jibes as well as possible.

Yeah, i figured as much, I just wanted to make sure my point wasn't being misconstrued..

And, that certainly is an interesting way of putting it.

Yep I deliberately avoided the swear filter, don't ask me how it should be dealt with becuase you're the moderator. Now deal with it.

And yes, you're right, the board is ohhh sooo much better now that all the geelong supporters have started sniping each other.

Game, set and match trolls.

Clearly too busy having a sadly sarcastic whinge to bother reading what i actually posted.

I guess throwing stones is easier than coming up with something constructive.

I usually edit the post, replacing the swear word with red stars to block it out and show what's been edited, but I missed your one Jim Boy, so will let it slide on this occasion. I must say though, most Geelong people are usually pretty good in that regard... and before anyone gets in with the usual ****, ****, **** and **** reply, it's just been done. :p

Can you spot the difference between the above two posts P&P. But I'll spell it out anyway. Scousecat has at the very at least attempted to diffuse the situation, I haven't got any reply to it, while you just set yourself up for a further kicking. You aint gonna get nowhere if you're just going sit at your keyboard and dribble abuse when you're meant to be meant moderating.

If you throw stones, i shall throw back. Being a moderator does not mean i must take your abuse with a smile.

If you want to discuss something in a constructive manner, i shall too. If you merely want to go with snide one-liners and attempts at sarcasm, i shall treat those posts with the respect they deserve.

If you don't like that approach, join the queue, it ends at about Perth.

Time to close this baby.

If anyone wants to discuss the moderating of the board further, either PM me or start another thread on the issue.
