When ever a team promises their coach is safe are usually only days away from sacking him. If the eagles don't win next week KJ will be sacked.

You have to get behind someone before you can stab them in the back, you know.

LOL, i guess thats proof he's going:D
the one main thing keeping him in the job is the trouble that freo are having...
if freo were above us then Judge would easily be under as much pressure as Drum is now
I read that in Judge's second year with Hawthorn they finished 14th. Right now Judge is in his second year with us and we are around the same mark. Hawthorn three years later are on top of the ladder and cruising thanks to Judge's hard work. I hope he stays, some of the things he does piss me off but i have confidence in him to rebuild our club. And he wont be sacked.
But would Hawthorn be 8-0 today if Judgey was still coaching? I very much doubt it!!!

Frodo, no doubt Judge came to Hawthorn when we were at the crossroads and helped rebuild a fragile list, our recruiting department did have some small part to play in that as well. Actually guys like Ben Dixon, Jade Rawlings, Daniel Harford etc were recruited in the Peter Knights era! I hope your not know saying Knights was a great coach. This is my last statement on Ken as you guys are prolly sick of hearing from me, he brought in an ultra defensive game plan which was what we needed 'coz we were getting flogged, and his uncompromising hard attitude was good for the times, Scwab has introduced flair as well as players such as Brett Johnston, Luke McPharlin and Lance Piccioane, he has resurrected careers such as Tallis, Joel Smith and Harford, made them more attacking and introduced a game plan, Judge has only one game plan, man on man. Todays footy is a bit more sophisticated than that. My gripe with Judge is the manner in which he left the club, not the fact that he did, i hear alot of WCE supporters dirty on Malthouse leaving early but ignoring Judges move, the fact he took our assistant coach with him then tried to poach Chick. WCE were my second side, when Judgey leaves they will resume being my second side. Cheers

You must be kidding. Radar hardly got a game under Judgey. I would credit Schwabby more with that one. My two cents on Judge : ultra defensive which is fine in lowly placed sides. Can bring discipline and accountability which is important. I think the recruiters at the Hawks have more to do with many of the young guns than Judge.
The real problem with him is whilst he is great for taking a team from lowly to borderline eight he's no where near attacking enough for them to take the next step. I see many similarities in his press conferences now that he's at the Eagles. Maybe I'm just a cynic at heart but your job can't be in danger if you constantly tell everyone about rebuilding and injuries can it?
Peter Schwab's comments when he first came to Hawthorn were a blessing for those who knew we could do better than play 22 taggers per game : "I'm not having a go at Ken and respect what he's done but last time I looked it was still highest score wins."

elt, sorry my post might have been a bit confusing, it meant that Schwabby was the reason for Tallis's resurrection, so i agree with you! lol

I see a lack of exactly that at the Eagles. Unsdisciplined, unaccountable rabble for last 3 weeks

I have to agree with Frodo. The fundamentals of Judge as a coach were discipline & baccountability of which the Eagles currently have none. He has also become a hopeless whinger. This started in his last year at Hawthorn with the "Their roughing up Crawford it is so unfair" .
The howler of this week was that Jakovic was physically mismatched against Thompson. Now we haven't had an Eagles game on here in Qld but unless Jakovic has got cancer I think he is probably big enough for Thommo.
Sack him now because he is getting worse.
You guys better get out and sign woosher for next year! Some other team will snap him up otherwise, I wouldn't even mind seeing him down at freo.
