17 Nathan Brown
Height: 179
Weight: 72
Birthday: 10 February 1978
Period on list: 1997 to 2003
Senior Games: 137
Goals: 206
Disposals: 2404
Recruited From: Bendigo U18, 1996 National Draft pick 10
Honours: All Australian 2001 & 2002, Morrish Medal 1996, Victorian State selection 2000, Second Best and Fairest 2000, International rules selection 2000-2003. leading goalkicker 2003-2003 56 and 57 goals.

Nathan Brown was a versatile player who could play in most forward, centre or flank positions. His game alternated between the wing, half back flank or as a forward. He eventually became a full-forward although occasionally his kicking accuracy let him down.

He had excellent seasons from 2000 onwards, coming 2nd in the Best and Fairest, and narrowly missing All Australian selection in 2002. One of his best games for the year was probably against Adelaide when he kicked 6 goals, 4 of them in the first quarter.

He was a highly skilled left footer who has just kept on improving. Early on, he was in and out of the senior team mainly due to inconsistency. He soon became a regular player and part of the 'core' of the team.

At the end of 2003 he did not come to terms on a new contract and went to Richmond. Deserted some would say, like Judas others would say.

Brown was all-australian in 2002 (and 2001). He missed out 2000 and 2003.

Jesus noticed that one of His apostles, Judas, sat silently as if he had something to hide. Judas did indeed have a big secret. He had collected money from the rulers of Jerusalem in order to lead them to Jesus.

At the door of the room, there was a bowl of water with a towel. Jesus took the bowl of water with the towel and washed His apostles’ feet and said to them, “If I, your Lord, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash each other’s feet”. During the supper, Jesus said, “truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me to My enemies”, and He turned to Judas as He said this. Judas understood that Jesus knew that he was the betrayer, so he got up and ran out of the room.

Graham Ion. Decoy full forward. Played in the '61 Grand Final. Led hard up the field leaving Ted Whitten (resting follower), Gus Baxter etc for the long kick. Not tall, really flanker size. I would be surprised if he topped 6 foot. Tough and willing to mix it.

Brother of Barry Ion who played on the wing. Barry would occasionally pass to the fast leading Graham. "Brotherly Love" murmered the crowd. Barry went on to become a radio star in Adelaide.
