View Full Version : The Brian Harris Appreciation Society
Welcome to the Brian Harris Appreciation Society (BHAS), a fan club for the discerning Bulldogs supporter.
If you appreciate the deeds of Kretuik, Croft, Libba, Foster, Kennedy and Southern (and their Tribunal appearances) this is the fan club for you.
While only young, Brian Harris will make his mark this season wrestling with the best of the them at FB, cracking some heads and hopefully hurling a few show pony forwards into a fence or a goal post or two.
Sure, you could join other fan clubs for flashy unproven forwards with bleached hair but if you're a true Bulldog supporter, why would you?
Help us bring back the biff this season and apply below for your free membership to this exclusive club.
Can I join and suggest Wiggo be enemy?

As a card-carrying member of the Forwards Wear Singlets club, and a career backman, I'd also like to apply for membership to this exclusive club.
Count me in.
A big backman with a vacant stare, a heavy brow and a nasty streak is exactly what we've been crying out for.
And he will get the chance to do something to address these unflattering comments in The Age's Real Footy player profiles.
"Received his opportunity midway through last season and played 14 games.
Most remembered for running across the mark against Carlton as he headed to the interchange when the Dogs were beaten by a point, but should let his footy be the talking point by season's end."
And we lost by 7 points.

No mention of the bit where he stood on Lynch's shoulders in R22 then?
Can I get an opposition supporter membership? I need something to fill my Paxman void.

When he was in the forward line he was Very Energetic.
Freo, Crows and early against Carlton.
As a backman he was a bit conservative until the very last game.
Anyone who walks up to match committee and the asks to play of Lockett and also Richo (when he was dumped?) deserves a clear vote.
Let him charge like a Bull and watch the forwards get out of the way.
Could become an exclusive club with a waiting list...

Count me in. He is one of the truly exciting players we have. Second efforts come naturally to this player and we all love players who are capable of taking screamers (although most of the time we will expect him to punch (the ball and odd back of opposing players heads when playing down back).

No, that was their complete profile. Very detailed !!

You're most welcome - the BHAS is for those of all faiths who appreciate the dark arts of backmen, and Harris in particular.
You may, however, face some difficulties when he hurls Tredrea into a fence.

If you read the fine print, you'll see that the BHAS makes no representations that Brian Harris is of merchantable quality or fit for purpose, and any resemblance to past or current players is purely coincidental.
Oh i want in, i want in. Im going to miss the days of Kritter, we need some biff back at the Bulldogs.

Brian Harris lacks alot of basic Pattributes. For any of you that would like to learn about Pattitude click on the link below.
Pattitude- a way of life.

To explain what Pattributes Harris is missing I have to explain what Pattributes are first.
Pattributes are the guidelines and ethics that make up the belief system that is Pattitude.
Pattitude is a way of life, a religion that helps it's true believers accomplish their goals and dreams.
Now Brian Harris here are some basic Pattributes he is missing:
*His hair, boganvile called they want their hairstyle back
*His demeanour. More love, less hate.
*Lacks Pat's flair and that special X-Factor he has (Pat Fact #349- Pat learnt to adopt aboriginal football flair during his time in NT)
*Effect he does/doesn't have on the ladies and well some guys
;)
If thats the case Im glad that Brian doesnt have the Pattitudes that you describe. Esp the more love, less hate.

Well Pattitude endorses a balance between love and hate, yin yang like. A key Pattribute is to harness your hate using a positive outlet, such as when Patrick is on field. But you also need love, with either you cannot see how powerful each emotion is.

Exactly.
Pattitudes are for soft hippies or the indulgences of flashy forwards.
There is no room for sentiment or mercy in the backline with Harris.

Remember Robert Mitchum in "Night of the Hunter" with LOVE and HATE tatooed across the knuckles of each hand?
The BHAS will sponsor Brian to get HATE tatooed across both hands, and his forehead.
Love is a luxury lazy singlet wearing forwards have time to indulge in.
Pattitudes, Pattributes. I will just be happy to see some Pattiformance for the Dogs this year. Last year was a nice stepping stone for him. But Rocco stop taking attention away from BH on his thread.

There seems to be a distinct lack of our lovely female posters joining the BHAS.
Why is this?
Surely Brian's rugged appearance which hopefully will mature, after years of fighting at FB, into something like the godlike features of Croft would sweep them away?
Would some sort of competition with the magnificent prize of a night (all night) with Brian Harris help here?

*Bump
It's crazy stuff, i know, but there is more...Mitch Hahn is like a raging bull out on the ground and this is largely due to his ritual of slapping himself in the face over and over while other players stretch.
From the latest isib edition. No wonder he gets so fired up.

I think Harris has been studying the way Mal Michael spoils the footy. He really gets up there and gives the ball an aggressive punch which is great because it really damages the opponent's confidence when going up fo the next mark.
Hopefully he can continue to blanket his direct opponent and play a role in getting the ball out of the backline with minimal fuss.
Has the BHAS given the great one a nickname? I vote for Bam Bam

BH has been showing wonderful discipline in spoiling with the big fist each week , but that attack on the ball and steal and run in the last quarter was inspirational.
Keep it going (nickname needed here), when Millhouse gets his kicking boots on we'll have ourselves a set of bookends at last.

A key factor with BHAS is offering value and not taking advantage of the great man's status.
Sure, his form turned around after I gave him a pep talk in Sydney after our awful loss to the Swans last year (and I'm sure I could sell this story for a fortune) but that's not what the BHAS is about.
Indeed, we're offering free entrance to Dogs home games this year to all members of the BHAS.*
* Only available to financial members of the FFC.

Interesting that he is developing a bit of a profile now, rather than just another sub 50 game no name.
If he does well versus Tredrea, Petrie, Lloyd etc he's really arrived.

Oh no not an article...looks like a shocker's coming up! Harris had a pretty good game on Sunday...its great we've got Grant down back to help him out and take the pressure off a bit. He's coming along nicely but we don't want to get carried away and expect too much. He is going to get beaten playing on the best forwards.
I thought his nickname was Psycho...
Just watched a replay of the game on Fox and his technique is coming along very well. He's never going to be able to stop everything the opposition does but as long as he sticks close to his man he'll do some damage. I think he's got a great future.

I thought his nickname was Psycho... I would have to agree,he dos'nt need to much pressure put on him. just encouragement and support is all that is needed at this stage in his career.I think he has it in him to really try hard each week and give his best. AS stated in the article it is a hard position to play let's all be supportive of him still IMOH he will come through for us. NO NO NO please not Psycho for a nickname.someone please come up with something more fitting for him
