Yeah he is nothing like Goodes, who was an undersized ruck with an excellent leap and real athletic advantages. Kreuzer is like the traditional ruck except with a huge motor and an inability to stop trying. Wills himself to so many contests and has really good skills. Had he not grown to 200cm and stood at 190cm we'd be talking about him as a good to great inside mid prospect.

Brereton and Parkin.Tony Shaw last night referred to Kruezer as a "taller Adam Goodes"

It could be a fair comparison if you consider the roles Kreuzer can play. IIRC, Goodes had to give up the number one ruck position after a knee injury. Both are followers who find the ball around the ground and kick goals. Kreuzer can exploit the mobility of most of his opponents. Was sensational as a roaming forward/ruck with Hampson taking the centre hitouts. Even roved Hammer's hitouts to win the ball at stoppages.
Kreuzer is a lot tougher than Fraser. Think he'll more like Lade and Ottens who could ruck and kick goals. Or Matt Allan with a better set of hands.

Naitanui and Sandilands both play in the ruck, doesn't make them remotely similar players.
Kreuzer is nothing at all like Goodes. Goodes is basically a (predominantly outside) midfielder who started off in the ruck and as his career winds down is playing forward. Can anyone realistically see Kreuzer lining up in the centre square as ruck rover, or on the wing against someone like Andrew Embley or Dale Thomas?

Many good observers can.
I have some doubts, but better credentialled people than me have suggested as such on more than one occasion.
Media people can be prone to making ridiculous calls, and this may just be another one of them.
Maybe Ratten should also be hung up for suggesting as such. Let's see how he goes this year, with injury behind him.

Kreuzer is a very good footballer with potential champion written all over him. He is a big body player key position /ruck has had bad injuries and bigger guys take long to develop. I would take him in a heartbeat if he wanted to come to hawthorn.

Kreuzer is a big man who is mobile and skillful for his size.
Goodes is a top class midfielder who just happens to be 194cm tall.

Kruezer is a good honest hard working ruckmen. not a super talent but tries hard. good on him 
I wouldn't mind a terribly disappointing ruckman/forward with the talent of Kruezer playing for the Pies.

Im not sure how one can be dissapointed by Kreuzer considering his age and ACL injury.
I mean, what more do people want from a young ruckman?
I can understand reservations based on the inevitable Kosi/Fraser comparisons.
By those that havent watched the kid play that is.
Kid is basically a 200cm onballer who is also a damn good ruckman. 22 years old and already had the misfortune of a serious knee injury. Cant fault his work ethic, talent or character.
He's a gem.

I'm not writing Kruezer off or anything but if there is one thing our ruck department can deal with quite easily is it's Kruezer. However we seem to really struggle against Warnock.
TBH i rate Warnock heaps in front of Kruezer as an actual ruckmen.

And you'd be right. Kreuzer isn't our best tap ruckman, or centre bounce specialist. He's probably third as far as contesting the centre goes. He is by far the best around the ground though, and has a massive impact in terms of doing the small things. If things got to plan he'll be the best second ruck in the league, while Warnock will take the majority of tap work.

The difficulty with mounting a case for Kreuzer (in the off-season) is that statistically he appears underwhelming. He dominates in no single category.
For those who watch him play however, his influence is (more often than not) irreplaceable. Few players, if any, his size can sustain prolonged pressure on consecutive contests in the same manner as Kreuzer.

The only thing disappointing about Kruezer so far has been his knee injury. He has shown as much as you could expect as a ruckman given his age and experience. I don't see him as a player capable of playing as a permanent/semi permanent flank of forward but I think he has the ability to be handy in those areas at times he is not committed to the ruck. A ruck with flexibility is a more than handy player. He still needs to work on his ruck craft however - but signs are promising.

The big fella was great last night, topping off a impressive pre-season, he looks set to have a great year.

What a joke this thread is Kruz just had a knee reco and last season only played 12 games the kid will be elite this season some of his second and third efforts are awesome and his marking is getting back as well this kid is a gun.
If Kruezer stays injury free he will become an absolute gun
