Realistically - we may lose by 3-4 goals.

Hopefully - we'll have a day out and win by 3-4 goals.

Another premiership contender, but I think they are still weak down back. If Jack and Ty can have good delivery and lead hard, then they are a big chance of kick 7-9 between them. nothing short of 4 quarters will be enough to win the game. Our structure is strong and the players are of good enough quality and the fact that we have been in winning positions against the top3 sides in the comp should give the players confidence to run the weagles close.

one of these games we are bound to finish off a top team, i think today could be it.

We are weak down back? I think we have arguably the best backline in the comp. Glass is AA FB, Hurn has the best boot in the comp and a very good intercept mark, Selwood is a shutdown specialist, Waters is tough as nails, Schofield and Mackenzie are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

Mackenzie might miss which will help Fantapants out but we are very solid down back. Whoever plays on Glass will struggle to get a kick, poor old Vickery the likely target.

I don't think you guys have a weak backline but you guys would be as susceptible as any if the ball goes in there enough and quickly enough. I rate WCE's team defence as brilliant, all over the ground....

Its not WCE's defence that concerns me...rather its Naitanui...kids so erratic...brilliant...mobile...takes a good grab...could prove the difference in the end...

Who the hell's going to man up on him when he goes forward...our defensive structures cant keep him quiet for 4 qrtrs...or can it?!?!?..

What i mean is that I think it is the weakest part of your team. The midfield is great and the forward line is destructive, but i think on song, our forward line can win against your backline. And i also think that the midfields are so close, it will go either way. Our backline is undermanned and will need a strong showing from our midfield to limit top delivery into the forward line.

Couldn't agree more!Hopefully we give you are half decent run for your money today.

:confused:Eagles ... weak down back????

Comical!:D

If the Eagles play to their potential they'll beat us comfortably. If we play our best footy and get the Eagles slightly off their game, we will be in it long enough to have a chance but everything has to go right for us to win.

This will be the best team we've played this year and I would not be at all surprised if the final margin reflects that. However, I'll be there cheering, getting pissed off when we stuff up and hoping that we'll get the points but I'm not 'expecting' a win by any stretch of the imagination. We need luck today. Opposition injury, dodgy umpiring, interchange errors in our favour etc...

Unless you have watched alot of us over the past two years then I would have to say you don't know what you're talking about...

Our midfield has been our weakest line, but this is getting better as players like Shuey, NicNat, Masten, Scott Selwood continue to improve quickly alongside Priddis, Kerr and Cox.

Our fwd line was also very good last year but since we have lost Lecras and Nicoski who kicked 45+ goals each last year it has not been as potent.

Our backline is very solid, only thing it lacks is offensive drive which Schofield is giving us more of and why we are persisting with Ash Smith who I don't rate at present. I have no doubt guys like Butler and Mitch Brown would make most other teams best 22 but can't get a game in our back half.

I hate your attitude

I'm generally very optimistic about most things RFC and I love the way we are progressing, I'm just saying I don't believe we can WCE at the their best. If they are below that however.... and there is every chance they may be after a tough game last week and travelling etc...

Lets keep it in perspective here...

WCE...have played Dogs/Dees/GWS/Hawks...and they only just beat the Hawks who had tough games against Pies//Cats/Crows...on their home ground...home crowd...

Tigers...Blues/Pies/Dees/Cats...tough games for us and its not like we were smashed...

Going by the last 4 games played we are a chance...

Stand by my comment, this will be the best team we have played this year.... arguably Carlton but they are nowhere near as physically demanding as WCE. Don't worry about who they have played, they are the best football team we will have played. We can beat them but not at their best....

True, you can't draw a line through our form this year but we have won 21 from our last 26 so you can draw a conclusion from that.

I expect us to win this week as do the bookies, but no doubt you're a chance, would have been bigger chance at MCG where we struggle to press as well, but we will see where we are at after today, contenders or pretenders...

Hoping for a good spectacle and no injuries.

Can't understand why we play a home game at Etihad. We never play well there. I know there is the crowd factor etc but in the long run we're better off playing all our home games at the G. I can't remember when we've ever been good at Etihad?

Anyways onto the game. Last week I was pretty impressed with how our midfield went about it. Make no mistake we were up with Geelong in that respect. What we lacked was the polish and class that the top 4 side have that gets them over the line.

If we are any chance of winning today Jack must contribute more. I am not saying he has to kick 8 but simply has to command the forward line, present & demand the Eagle defenders pay him more attention. Basically JR needs to work his ass off today.

I think players like Grigg and our second tier midfielders have been great but today if we are any chance it will be Dusty, Cotch, Lids & Axel that will have to all be at their best to match the Eagles midfield. I still rate the Blues and Cats and probably even Collingwoods midfield better then WCE and we did okay against all 3.

Our backline will have their hands full today. Rance to Kennedy and Grimes to Darling. I have faith we can hold them both but I'm more worried about when Nic Nat goes forward and we're stretched down back.

I've been crook all week so staying in to watch this. It must be noted that when I choose to stay home the Tigers somehow do the miraculous. Here's hoping. I think we're a chance. Go Tigers! :footy:

going on this years form, Defence good; Forwards bad. you make no sense with your arguments.
