2012 Western Australian Draft Prospects

Good to see Jesse Hogan is still growing.

As is Marco Paparone at 197cm now. Must be rocketing up in calculations the way he has been playing.

His East Freo teammates Alex Howson (197cm key forward who has been kicking a fair few goals) and Harry Marsh (193cm mid) are interesting prospects also.

Few options there for us to pick up a good KPP depending on how the kids go for the rest of the year.

Be unreal if bond & Lloyd had a KPF as best available for our first pick in this years 2012 ND.

I'm not convinced about the measurements for Paparone and Howson. I really like them both as KPFs, but ultimately the correct measurements are never fully realised until after the combine.

A couple of guys are listed as being shorter than I thought. Which is the opposite of what the states usually do. So not sure about that.

What do people think of the decision to guarantee every player at least one game?

I know it could be a good thing, but I would prefer to take the whole thing a bit more seriously. Constant large scale changes will ensure the side struggles and lacks cohesion.. Sure it's great to say get out there and show us what you can do, but I just think the side needs to be (reasonably) settled as players do play better (and look better) in a strong side where everyone is playing for the team.

Was in The West yesterday I think (or the day before). The coach guaranteed that every player in the academy will get at least one game over the championships (obviously injury/etc. permitting).

Glad to see Lachie Dennis get a crack, he is an overage player, cut down by injury last year so I hope he had a good crack, ripper bloke. Adam Carter will tear it up this year and I think Dylan Loo might surprise a few.

All Wesley boys who I have seen first hand whilst coaching, Dylan Loo and Adam Carter in particular are incredible.

It's an interesting squad they've picked. A lot of similar players, seems like they've picked the best players possible, regardless of team balance. Will be interesting to see how they fit everyone in, especially up forward.

I think McIntosh will really benefit down back, but I fear Hutchinson will be asked to play as a key defender once again this season - which is not going to help his draft chances.

Marco Paparone with another BOG performance, 22 poss, 4 goals for Easts. Howson with another 4 goals.

Looks to be some decent KPP options popping up this year.

The two are listed as the same height and weight, what type of players are they Chinggis? It seems from the stats that Paparone is more mobile and gets some of his kicks up the ground. Would it be fair to say Paparone is more of a CHF and Howson more a FF?

This is great news - 2 local KPF who are promising. Howson's father (with whom I work) is a Freo fan and would love Alex to come our way.
