G'day all,
The availability of bigpond footage from 2005-2009 seems difficult, as the bigpond website continues to evolve with the bureaucracy of Telstra and the AFL, and the monopoly Telstra holds over AFL and NRL footage. For those footy fans also into NRL, there seems some hope of obtaining the .wmv format once available, as for the AFL, from 2005-2009.
This however, will require some snooping a la Mr Nosey style!!
If one types in: "way back time machine"; into google, or simply http://archive.org/web/, there will come up a search bar, that provides snapshots of over four billion websites since the beginning of mainstream internet browsers. Type in "bigpondguide.com" and explore the 218 captures from 2005-2013. Initially, the links will provide some fairly rare videos not available today!
For chrome or firefox users, obtain an extension called "Firebug", which can be used to interrogate the html source code of the links available. Although you cannot simply open the videos in the web browser and stream them from there, you might find the old link to the video itself, and use a program like Internet Download Manager, to retrieve the old file.
If anyone has any luck with this, let me know, and hopefully we can usurp the Monopoly!!
