Backes and Steen are -4 total and 1 SOG. The two offensive leaders on the team were on the ice for both goals against (apart from the PPG of course). That is where the problem lies. Backes has been awful defensively since coming back from his atrocious USA performance.

I know MacKinnon and Stastny will get a lot of credit, and rightly so, but Barrie has become such an important player who delivers in the big moments - his play on the GWG was quality.
