Editing software for HD video

Can someone recommend me a good, easy to use video program with plenty of editing features. Preferably free but dont mind paying if the price is reasonable. Want to take footage from events/parties (mts files) off my camera memory cards and clean all of them up

I use Corel Video Studio. Pretty easy to use. It's not free, unless you obtain it by alternative means. Not sure how it goes with MTS files though.

Premiere's pretty good and it's easy to use. Torrent it, if I'm allowed to say that on here. Not worth the price tag it asks but still good.

If you go against the method by the above post, use Lightworks. That's free.

I've tried doing that before but always fall at the last hurdle in terms of the key-gen. Apparently most recent Adobe things are useless to torrent due to some flash new always online checking system.
