Yes Weedster this board is rooted mainly driven by a moderator who refuses to post, got plenty of news but aint posting because no one else does...
Bit hard to keep in touch. Looking forward to some updates as we head to the business end. Burners team tomorrow looks pretty good

Way too early yet, but I have the number of the Goldseeker. Looking forward to making a booking !

Read in the WMT that there will be no structure change in the 2015 season for any AFLWM or Central Vic leagues, with an investigation to be undertaken next year.

Jeparit/rainbow are looking at heading horsham District way, and the combined hopetoun/Beulah entity are looking at the NCFL as a home.

Should it go ahead, it is sure to help out our end of the deal.

M4 - why would the addition of clubs further north add to our league? If anything it would make it harder for clubs to recruit from the south, where besides St.Arnuad most of the travelling players in the league come from.

I think adding a Northern club would be a step backwards.

More clubs add to the league, irrespective of where.

Current clubs will have to travel up once, maybe twice a year, it's not that hard.

We currently have one of the best travelling situations of all Victorian leagues... Current furtherest trip is what? Wedd to Birchip? 95km.

Look at it from the incoming club's perspective, while it would be ideal for us to recruit from the south, clubs don't merge North, because it means further travelling for their Melbourne recruits.

Let's say hopetoun come in, instead of 380km for home games and potentially further for away games, it's now 250km to St A, 290 Charlton, etc

Smoker! its been a while! I'm in your boat, after tripping to Birchip on the weekend it isn't a pleasant drive and to add another team that side of the comp would definitely make it harder.. While its at teh mercy of the AFL CV it would be good to see the likes of Ingle wood and even pyramid join NCFL!
You a chance to buy your jumper back next yer? should be plenty of room to move in it!

Story is that Woomelang & Sea Lake/Nandaly/Berriwillock/Culgoa Tigers are also keen to head North Central way.. Surely an extra 3 teams couldn't be a bad thing?

“We are unsure whether we will be staying in the Mallee or moving to the North Central league at this stage. We will just wait and see how everything plays out.”

Confirmation from the Hopetoun president that this is more than just grapevine BS for those doubters out there (source weekly times)

The travelling situation your referring to does not reflect the true situation - you only have to look at the lists of every team to realise that most players in the league are drawn from Bendigo, Ballarat or Melbourne.

Not every club can afford to pay over the odds to chase the dream and increasing the distance from the Southern player pool would only burden NCFL clubs with bigger requirements to fork out cash.

Granted a 2/3 new clubs to the NCFL would spice it up and even the draw - but its obvious they should be from the South.

Lets not forget sides north of the league have had many great players represent NCFL/district in days gone by when the league was a force in interleague football. So they certainly have long held ties to the league.

I think any league would welcome additions to their league in this day and age.

Interested in your comments regarding the part of my Post to which you didn't quote...

Over/Under on another unfunny overused "Darwin Saints" reference from the WNFC scribe in the recorder?

Whilst on odds, Sportingbet still taking bets on Wyche and Donald for the flag... wonder if they got any hits...

Wedd out from 1.20 to 1.33
Charlton back into 5, from 6
St Arnaud out from 4, to 5
Birchip out to 12, from 8
Boort out to 18, from 8
