Jeremy Cameron wishes to be closer to his parents who live and work in Mt.Gambier after relocating there from Dartmoor where he grew up. His preference is for Adelaide (the city) or Geelong as both are about 4 1/2 hrs away by car.
Will also ensure that Giants won't let go of Patton or Boyd.

Where is our email informing us that we have a new CEO?

...we have to learn this from a footy show apparently.

When will the penny drop?!! fair dinkum!

Whether or not Niall's on the money, I was always skeptical of the club's ability to keep that promise. Too many people involved in the decision to keep it in-house for more than about 5 mins in this industry. It only takes one employee, player or member of Swann's family to let the cat out of the bag.

Fair enough. The club can't come out and announce it without pen to paper, unlike the media, because the egg is going to be on the club's face if something goes wrong.

Not if they say "We have offered the position to Greg Swann" and "Greg has accepted the position and expected to sign".

The thing is, you can't keep it secret right up until the ink has dried, but the club knew they had him and the deal was done. Even if they need to include a disclaimer like "expected to sign" on whatever date or "soon".
Instead they insist we swallow the "no news" crap and let us find out from Victorian media.
Making an announcement tomorrow, as if it is "news" is pretty farcical and just a bit contemptuous. As if they were ever going to be the first to announce it by waiting for a signature.

The Footy Show have just congratulated Greg Swan on his new appointment as CEO of the Brisbane Lions.

..sorry, but finding out this way is just not good enough imo. Bloody slack and an up yours attitude...again.

What if things go **** up between those two events?

Best to hold off IMO. Shouldn't have made the promise in the first place, but I'm not losing sleep over it. Just excited that by the sounds of it we might actually now be able to move forward off-field.

I can guarantee you that's not the case, at least not from Steele.

You obviously know things that I/we don't know wbb....but for the uninvolved it appears to show another communication breakdown between board and members.

Skoob is right, an email to members informing them of an impending announcement or signing of new CEO would have been most appropriate..its all in the wording, even if signature isn't on paper.

..and if it did go belly up, it would be egg on the faces of the media who prematurely announced it...not us.

..anyway, its done, we have a new CEO apparently.
