After a bye week (in anticipation of the Hawks playing in the Foxtel Cup grand final - to be pedantic the round 15 game was actually played at the start of the season with Box Hill defeating Williamstown comfortably), the Hawks resume with a home game against the struggling Coburg Tigers.
The Hawks sat idle whilst their top four competitors all played. Consequently, the Hawks sit in third position, a half-game behind the Bulldogs (being the team they defeated last time out) and six points behind league-leading Port Melbourne. But only a half-game separates Box Hill from fifth so while they will go into Sunday's game as very warm favourites, the Hawks can't afford complacency as an upset result could see the Hawks slip out of the top four for the first time all season.
For the Tigers, it's been a horrible season, with just three wins and now the spectre of folding haunting Coburg, it's a game tailor-made for a big Box Hill win, but I'm positive that coach Marco Bello will be reminding the players that no win is a foregone conclusion and it will take plenty of effort from the Hawks to win on Sunday.
The development squad also host the Tigers with their game starting at 11am on Sunday.
As usual, 3WBC 94.1FM will cover the game from 1pm with coverage live on the radio for those in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and online at www.3wbc.org.au. For those with a mobile device, you can use the TuneIn app to find 3WBC online.
Additionally, for those on twitter, you can follow updates from the Box Hill Hawks at www.twitter.com/boxhillhawks.
Teams will follow later today.
