You couldn't be more wrong. I have no issue with people not liking Ween, each to their own but to say they have made the same album over and over is quite simply incorrect. Hate em? ok. Don't rate em? ok. But versatility is their strength so you know....

You can trace most rock music back to the classic periods pre-1900's if you really wanted to also....fact is Led Zeppelin took these, and gave them life

Led Zeppelin broke the world record for the Highest Demand for Tickets for One Music Concert when 20 million requests came through for the one-time reunion show in December 2007.

Not bad for plagiarists 27 years after they disbanded is it?

Led Zeppelin may have been less than diligent in acknowledging their influences but their alleged plagiarism is still unproven. It must be hard for a music writer to come up with something truly original. Is that riff they have come up with original or is it unknowingly based on something they heard before.

Anyway plagiarism is all the rage in music, it's just that now it's called "sampling".

Interesting mini doco about sampling and the Amen Break, a six second drum loop that you've definitely heard before.

massive difference between paying to use a sample of a song and blatantly stealing another song to create one of your own.

Blatantly stealing?

Oh, and of course all sampled music is paid for to the legitimate copyright holder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_plagiarism
Any music that follows rules of a musical scale is limited by the ability to use a small number of notes.

No artist denies the existence of, and relation between, musical genres. In addition, all forms of music can be said to include patterns. Algorithms (or, at the very least, formal sets of rules) have been used to compose music for centuries; the procedures used to plot voice-leading in Western counterpoint, for example, can often be reduced to algorithmic determinacy.

In music, sampling is the act of taking a portion, or sample, of one sound recording and reusing it as an instrument or a sound recording in a different song or piece.

Music plagiarism is as old as caveman rattling bone rattles and beating clubs on dried skulls
