After a one week break, the eleventh GP of the year takes us to Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Here's Lewis Hamilton's pole lap from last year:

Circuit Name: Hungaroring
Number of Laps: 70
Circuit Length: 4.381 km
Race Distance: 306.630 km
Lap Record: 1:19.071 - M Schumacher (2004)
The Budapest track is tight and twisty and suits cars with high mechanical grip. The limited passing opportunities at Budapest make qualifying all important.

Drivers Championship
Rosberg's win in Germany, coupled with Hamilton's 3rd placing extend the German's lead over Lewis to 14 points with one race to go before the summer break. Ricciardo stays in 3rd place although his lead over Alonso is only 9 points. Bottas is the bolter and is now only 6 points adrift of Alonso with third place in the Championship a realistic goal for the Finn.

1 Nico Rosberg 190
2 Lewis Hamilton 176
3 Daniel Ricciardo 106
4 Fernando Alonso 97
5 Valtteri Bottas 91
6 Sebastian Vettel 82
7 Nico Hulkenberg 69
8 Jenson Button 59
9 Kevin Magnussen 37
10 Felipe Massa 30
11 Sergio Perez 29
12 Kimi Räikkönen 19
13 Jean-Eric Vergne 9
14 Romain Grosjean 8
15 Daniil Kvyat 6
16 Jules Bianchi 2

Constructors Championship

Mercedes continue their march to the 2014 Constructors title with Williams overtaking Ferrari into 3rd position with their eye firmly on taking the runner's up spot from Red Bull.

1 Mercedes 366
2 Red Bull Racing-Renault 188
3 Williams-Mercedes 121
4 Ferrari 116
5 Force India-Mercedes 98
6 McLaren-Mercedes 96
7 STR-Renault 15
8 Lotus-Renault 8
9 Marussia-Ferrari 2

Hungary sees a return to the soft and medium tyres, a combination that we haven't seen since the Chinese Grand Prix (soft/medium was also used in Australia and Bahrain).

There is a chance of rain on Sunday with warm weather (high 20s) expected throughout.

I always enjoy Hungary. Might be down to this track being where Mansell finally secured the World Championship. Plus it's the only track on F1 racing games I seem to be any good at!

Nice from Horner.

Sky at the end of FP3:
"So is rain the only thing that can stop Hamilton getting pole?"
"No, Hamilton is great in the wet too."
*Pats on the back all round*

Seriously....can ROS have anymore things go his way?

Bad luck for HAM continues :(

Might as well just hand the WDC to ROS now.

The interesting things saying Ham Merc has bad luck? All the good luck in the world wouldn't help most cars beat those Mercs fairly this year. So he lucked in massively in way moving to Merc a few years ago when the rule change has tipped the balance massively.

So this is the FOURTH technical failure for Hamilton and the 2nd in a row. He had similiar problems in 2012 and it looks like his title chances are ruined through no fault of his own. He deserves better luck than this.
