Yes, the thing on the ground exploding was probably the plane.
Yes, that would be good however there were numerous eyewitnesses and we have already heard from some of them about what they saw.

Excellent article. Couldn't agree more. World politics aren't a WWF matchup where you boo the bad guy and cheer for Hulk Hogan, but it's in those kinds of terms that it's presented.

I thought that too. I didn't see anything strange about that. The plane likely did not explode mid air but was smashed apart, and exploded when the fuel tanks hit the ground.

Yep,
Why? The SAM would have been proximity fused, peppering the airframe with little tungsten cubes. At 33k feet there wouldn't have been a fire, just a massive compromise of the airframe causing aerodynamic instability leading to a break up of the aircraft. The fuel tanks wouldn't have exploded at altitude due to lack of a catalyst.

but
just because the people might have been diff doesnt really support an argument that the idea is not possible
