Kuroda is also 39, so he's the one you'd most expect to be on the DL!

Brutal, brutal day for injuries. Really sucks.

Meanwhile, Kershaw has pushed his scoreless innings streak to 41, he's pitched five scoreless innings against the Padres and counting.

Haha, Puig puts up a goose egg in the Home Run Derby, what the hell was he even doing in it in the first place? He had 1 home run in his last 90 bats or so.

Stanton hit one 510 feet;

:eek::eek:

Kershaw is just ridiculous of late. Complete game shut out, 2 hits, 1 walk against the Giants today.

Last 10 starts - 9-0, 77 IP, 0.94 ERA, 39 hits, 8 walks, 8 ER, 95 strike outs

Trade deadline always entertaining. Some big moves, obviously price going to Tigers makes them an extreemly talented squad (last 3 Cy Youngs and 3 MVPs).

Boston having a bit of a fire sale getting rid of best 2 pitchers, best lefty reliever and a few other pieces. A's getting rid of cespedes was a bit of a surprise but good move to get lester. Yankess did ok getting drew and prado, but with headley being traded in earlier not sure where they all fit.

As for my braves, we would have loved Miller but asking price to much. Got Russell instead (LHP bullpen) and Bonifacio (bench depth) for next to nothing (low level catching prospect)

Detroit will depend on whether Verlander can get back to near his best, he's been pretty dreadful this year.

Cubs got Dubront for PTBNL from the red sox, interesting whether Bosio can weave the same magic he has with Strop and, especially Arrietta, plus most of our other pitching staff that aren't Edwin Jackson.

Don't mind that trade to the Braves. Bonofacio is better on a contending team with his versatility, I don't mind Russell, and he has pitched quite well lately, but he always seemed to give up a walk or a hit when e came in with runners on base. The guy was got was 7th in te Braves system, so hopefully he develops into something. Our catching depth is pretty hopeless.

Gutted to see Jackson leave the tigers. What a shitty way to do it. Sometimes I really hate the American culture in regards to player movement.
Yeah it is pretty crazy. How about Joe Kelly and Allen Craig of the Cardinals, both guys who has been there a long time, finding out they'd been traded via media reports.

Even James Russell was saying it hit 3pm, sat down, thought he was fine then go a little tap on the shoulder to inform him he was off to the Braves. Few hugs of everyone in the dug out and he was gone

Javier Baez making his MLB debut tonight, huge potential, top 10 prospect, tends to struggle for the first month or two at any new level though. Exciting times

didn't think the Yanks would be able to go toe to toe with the Tigers in a pitching duel, like the past 2 nights. Great series.

had a good day today. thats a savage swing he has, will hit home runs but can see some K's coming up as well.
yeah definitely, especially early on. Every level he has struggled with that at least initially (hit about .150 in his first month at AAA, steadily improved from there). Despite a horrible first two months or so he still ended up with an OPS well over 800, .260 batting average and over the last two months at AAA lowered his K rate significantly.

I think it's a good idea to get him in for a couple of months, see where he's at, adjust in the off season and hit the ground running in 2015. For now though im just happy to enjoy his early games. After a few years of general shite it's very enjoyable these last couple of months to see the prospects slowly start to arrive.

A's Angels tied atop the AL West again. Taking the first 2 of the series game 3 tomorrow on ESPN.

Losing Richards has and will be massive for the Angels. Has been by far their best pitcher all year, I think (hope) they will struggle to take the divison off us now.

Their rotation is pretty terrible. Weaver regressing as has Wilson and the rest are what you would have as # 4 or 5 in your rotation at best given the opportunity

Cubs take two from Orioles with another game tonight.

Baez as expected. Lots of strike outs, lots of power. 7 HR so far. Plate discipline showing good signs, working slightly deeper counts. But this is all a starting point for off season work before next year.

Arrieta has 4 hits, one walk, one ER (HR by Cruz) in seven innings against his former team, and the Strop held firm the 8th innings. That trade last year of Feldman for Arrieta and Strop looks like going down as one of the best in baseball, for us anyway.

All in all there's a better feeling around the Cubs than there has been in a while. Feels like the corner has slowly been turned this season
