Time for another avatar change

Actually might have been an interesting night Friday if King was back.

Ty is a good mate of his, knowing the end is nigh and not yet announces....... he could have racked up a record for weeks suspended :D

surely king wouldnt need a press conference for his retirement?

happens for most players who rack up a decent amount of games now

afl.com.au, the club sites, and SEN need content, and this helps fill it

Sad King wont get a farewell, but it showed the type of guy he is.

Contrary to those who said he was selfishly putting his own ego and financial welfare ahead of the club, hes conceding the foot wont get good enough to deserve a game, so its done

He saw my then 2 y.o son in his Richmond top at the family day a couple of years ago and said "you're surely not going to punish him by making him barrack for the Tigers".... Then we just both laughed.
Great bloke. All the best "Push up".....Thanks and we'll miss you.

Great career for a guy with limited skills but a big heart.

We get any future push up king's since he got to 100 games!

Not to look too far ahead but if the retirement is effective immediately, does that mean we can elevate a rookie for the last few games? Darrou for example?

King says his favourite memory is getting drafted while working on the roof before going to the pub for a counter meal!

King says he couldn't change direction and had to run flat footed

Hardwick believes King can coach

Hardwick says he is an outstanding individual who was misunderstood outside Richmond

Hardwick says "we're gonna miss the little fella"

RICHMOND forward and AFL bad boy Jake King has announced his retirement.

The 30-year-old has played just twice this season, stranded on Richmond's long-term injury list after foot and toe injuries.

King will finish with 107 games for the Tigers and 79 goals.

King is most well-known for his controversial association with former bikie boss Toby Mitchell, earning AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou's wrath for inviting Mitchell into the Tigers' rooms last year.

"We've spoken about it over the last couple of days," King told a media conference on Monday.

"The foot has been too much. We tried everything we could, five or six procedures."

Is that really necessary? Especially from the AFL website?
