If EFC do have a way to prove Sarah's true identity then surely they will be strategic about when and if to drop that bombshell. No point at the moment, and using Robbo for the time being to fire off a few warning shots can't hurt I guess.

Is she a family member of one of the behind the scenes Triple M production team?

Whats the best way to complain to the AFL media department in regards too Barrett. His continual slur's is dragging this whole game down, and yet the AFL pay him!

Had a look on the AFL website...the "contact us" link just directs to a bigpond telstra feedback form featuring vague AFL dropboxes

Friday night footy involving Sydney, top of the table and featuring one of the best forwards in the game in Lance Franklin, who incidentally loves owning tonight's opponent each time they play. That opponent is Essendon, in great form over the last month and who also have a history of great games with Sydney, going back 2 decades.

The hottest forward in footy these past few weeks, Jake Carlisle, was a sub lucky to hold his place in the side at all, the last time these two met. Great story. Tonight's game also pits one of the best attacks against one of the best defences in the league against each other. Sydney clung onto top spot by a single kick last week, whilst Essendon still have plenty of work to do to guarantee September action. Needless to say, it is a massive game.

So who better to ask about it than the 'best in the business' on his official AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE weekly piece? What's that? Sorry, he's too busy having a cowardly pop at another journo who may or may not have an indirect link with one of tonight's combatants, apparently.

Yep, ASADA fatigue indeed, Purple, you ******* campaignerhole of a campaigner.

Gold pure gold :thumbsu: post of the week in this thread.

Of all of these things, I still think Barrat's comment that Robbo should 'take the essendon guernsey off' was probably the dumbest. What short foresight he must have, when he can't even notice that anyone with half a brain could see that he is on the payroll of the AFL. I just can't get over how stupid someone would have to be to make that comment, considering the how easy the retort is.

I would love for someone to run through his past 19 rounds of sliding doors to see how many of the Essendon ones were actually about football.

there's one player in the AFL who deserves a crack at a substantial patch of freedom from injury … … it is Jason Winderlich.

this column is ever going to ease up on the Bombers, and it promises it spent the off-season endeavouring to start afresh... … it needs to either shut up James Hird and his wife in 2014 or tell them to show some remorse or acknowledge some fault.

My favourite!

you had forgotten how brilliant Mark Thompson had been as a coach, and, hand is up here... … we got a timely reminder last Friday night. Genius.

James Hird was coach... … would Courtenay Dempsey have been stood down? Maybe. Maybe not. But one thing is absolutely certain: Bomber Thompson is doing things HIS way.*

*I see this as a crack at the decision to stick with Hird.

Bellchambers and Ryder are nearly both right to go... … is it a given that they both play? Going more than well without them right now, the Bombers.

we look deeply into all aspects of last week's game in Perth... …we could comfortably mount an argument that the Bombers were never going over there to win.

My other favourite!

there's been a bigger roll of the dice at selection in 2014 than the Bombers elevating for Anzac Day Courtenay Dempsey, a player they suspended and who hasn't played seniors this year... …well, there hasn't.

Mark Thompson is the coach we know him to be... …he won't second guess himself. Carlisle will play forward.

we didn’t know where the Bombers were at - and let's face it, we don't... …then the next three games will tell us. Lions, Swans, Tigers. Season-defining.

James Hird is coaching this club next year... …we will be surprised.

Bombers players are distracted by the ASADA saga... …they have every right to be. And the lawyers just get richer.

the Bombers lose to the Tigers... …it’s a ‘Long Walk’ to the finals.

you accumulate 25 disposals and boot five goals in a game of footy... …you're very stiff not to receive the best-afield medal. Ben Howlett was robbed.

you issue yet more breathtaking "we love James" propaganda to members saying it would be an "unlikely event" that your players would receive show-cause notices... …about three hours later your players receive show cause notices, how silly do you look? Very, but that's no longer a surprise to us.

the money spent on lawyers and legal advice in the past 18 months could be recouped... …the Bombers wouldn’t have had to settle for only two full-sized ovals at their training base. They could have installed four or five, maybe six, with grandstands.

we are reading this accurately... …big, big drama will engulf Paul Chapman tonight.

you want to continue to allow yourself to be brainwashed by those running the club now... …fine. But find some space in your brain for Switkowski's findings too: "... a disturbing picture of a pharmacologically experimental environment never adequately controlled or challenged or documented within the club".

the Bombers get within striking distance of Collingwood and lose... …Goddard will be feeling pretty bad about that off the ball bump on Cornes.

Jake Carlisle hadn't had that chat with Wayne Carey... …would he have come of age as a forward in the last two matches? Maybe. But it doesn't matter. The Legend of Duck has been enhanced.

James Hird's lawyers invoice the Bombers for briefing a Herald Sun journo... …the same journo should invoice the same lawyers after he was prepared to put his name to that delusional copy last weekend.

Out of the twenty so far I'd say he's running at 60% on footy issues.

Going to be interesting to see if the little weasel fronts up to any of Hird's press conferences...

I can just imagine it:

Purple: Inane question
Hird: Purple, you are a snivelling little campaigner* who sleeps with the light on. I have no intention of ever answering a question asked by best "communications specialist"** in the game

* Actually says campaigner (not cxxx) for the lulz

** Communications specialist

:D Yeah, I'll be honest- I didn't think I could make it through all of them!

Turns out, after getting half way through Dave's post- I skipped to the tl;dr bit at the end. :D

So- every second week he's pumping out non-footy drivel. And that's the message that the AFL is trying to communicate? No wonder the brand has gone up the shitter.

Do communications specialists attend press conferences?

Its all I could find too. The AFL huh, un-accountable on all levels.

The only thing Damien Barrett is a specialist at is being an utter gutter sniping sh*tstain.

It turns out that a supplier I deal with* was at the same high school and year as Purple. Told me that he was an utter w***er at school, who sucked up to teachers and consequently became a school prefect. Additionally he was useless at sport, but tried to win favour with the jocks, who in turn picked on him mercilessly and generally told him to * off.

*He's a Carlton supporter, and so isn't biased about this topic.

Interesting how somethings don't change.

In regards to sexism;

Last August with Media camped out on the Hirds front lawn Parrot stated on Footy Classifieds

Paraphrase

"I suffer like this every day"

I don't doubt she is hit with some disgusting abuse, but it did strike me as being very delusional and a very Parrot thing to say
Caro's comments when Peta Searle got a gig were astounding for someone who claims to be against sexism.

Her take seemed to be was that it was good a woman was given a job, and more women should be given jobs to even out the imbalance in the AFL.

I thought her comments were disrespectful to searle's abilities suggesting tokenism, when a true supporter of greater female participation would have focussed on those abilities as proof women have what it takes to deserve roles at the highest level.

Slow day at work, waiting for a major network outage to be resolved. Life is over-rated, worst reality game ever.
