How many footballers post on forums? Would you, if you played?

I'd imagine most would want an escape from football during their time off. They would spend so much time around their club and football circles in general they'd probably look to do something other than read/talk about football in their down time. Not surprised that some players have visited / posted though.

Have you seen dusty play this season?

I eagerly await the day the media stop pretending BigFooty doesn't exist.

Double points if good posters end up being journalists, rather than 'communications specialists' lurking around BF all day.

This point is pertinent. As tempted as players might be to have a read, the media have more specifics to gain from select areas of Big Footy. For example, if they go to the Brisbane board and read up about Hanley before commentating on next week's game, they'll likely find more interesting stats and background information than anywhere else on the internet. Granted real life sources are better, however a major advantage is they can go online anytime from their own home.

In reverse, experienced Big Footy posters would have years of detailed background knowledge that could assist them in becoming a professional *cough* journalist.

If the media understands the subtleties of the forum and compensate for its imperfect generalisation to non-posters, they would have access to real-time football opinion and emotion as it happens. This allows them to better read the play.

Imagine if Lindsay Thomas read the Main board North Gameday threads.....

Would Lindsay Thomas enter the world of Internet forums? Why yes, he would dive into it head first :thumbsu:

Apparently Snapchat is - or perhaps was, popular at Carlton.
