You'd think that Bangladesh don't have a chance sans Shakib. Only reason they won here last time was due to the West Indies basically putting out a C-grade lineup....AFAIK Bangladesh are yet to beat a Top 8 side in a single Test other than that.

Watching Ramdin and Lara Jr annihilate the Bangladeshi's at the moment. Certainly no arguments from me about Sohag's action being reported.

Bangladesh are a rabble once again, like the team of the mid 2000's. Could be an ugly WC for them.

The Windies really do lack forward thinking, why aren't they blooding new players against the Bangers instead of going for the same old players who get found out time and time again when playing against quality opposition.

For example Jermaine Blackwood scored 63no against New Zealand in his only test innings so far, I can't see why this guy isn't getting a game in the IDO's, It would only enhance his development.

Shane Shillingford eats a mango, West Indies v Bangladesh, 1st Test, 2nd day, St Vincent, September 6, 2014

Or Rampaul (if he is fit). What do they see in Gabriel?

It boggles the mind. Holder is going to be an absolute beast of a cricketer; they've done all the right things in identifying him early, sending him on that limited overs tour of Australia, which has paid really dividends in the last 6 months, and now they don't give him f*cking invaluable Test experience against a weak side at home... Just to give Shannon bloody Gabriel a game, of all people, who is a complete spud. Unless the selection panel is made up entirely of Trinis looking out for a mate, I have zero explanation for this one. Roach, Taylor, Holder - now there's an attack.

I'm a Rampaul fan as well, improved out of sight over a few seasons, especially after a big home series against India not too long ago, no idea why they've pencilled him in as a white-ball specialist. I think he's dreadful in the shorter forms. Either way, out of sight improvement over the fat, slow campaigner I saw barely getting to the crease against Queensland in a tour game at AB Field about 5-6 years ago.

Haven't seen a single ball of this match, but 400 runs in two days? What's going on?

The only reason Gabriel is getting a game is because the test is being played in Trinidad.

What people need to understand is the WI fans support the players of their regions over the West Indies team.

So for the WICB to create interest and make some money out of test cricket, It's in their best interest to play as many of there home grown talent at there venue as possible.

For example, Blackwood debut was in Jamaica and Holder's was in Barbados, coincidence, I guess not.

Don't be surprised if Shillingford is picked for the next test at St Lucia.

The situation with Shakib is very frustrating. They cannot afford to be without him.
