Im only interested in players born 1988 or afterwoods. No one over 27-28 years old.
Sorry but we aren't winning a flag in the next 2 seasons why recruit anyone at all over that age, even if they are "free" (as in free agents).
Keep building until we are close then and only then launch after the best older players available.
As for needs;
Defensive depth, both small and tall, maybe state league players are worth a look here.
Midfielders, more inside than out, can only see Adams as reliable going forward as an inside mid.
Small/medium forwards.
Id be more on the side of keeping Broomhead, and trading our second rounder plus steak knives for Clurey if needed.
Whiley is someone id be targeting, good 4th 5th string midfielder at any club, good height, good price and hes hard at the footy. Someone who can average 20-25 disposals a season at AFL if he tries to win his own ball, but can tag if you need him too(Handy if a player has a dominating first quarter, just chuck on him Whiley to play a run with role instead of a full negating role).
Exchange of 3rd round picks kind of deal, and he takes Macaffers spot in the side.

Goldsack has enough strength to play as a 3rd tall defender too. In fact, that is where he should be probably playing. I don't like him in the forward line, he doesn't kick enough goals. As for the third tall defender, just play Keeffe, Frost and Brown in the same team, whilst we wait for Scharenberg and Langdon to get stronger.

Need a young key forward in the draft, (Moore) I hope we get him second round so then we can use our first pick drafting a good young mid who wins his own footy and uses the ball well
Make Whiley want to come to us and GWS will let us have him for a packet of chips. Whereas Mitchell is a highly rated F/S who Sydney will want to keep.If that whiley kid is like tom Mitchell then why don't we just get Tom Mitchell.......?
If Rosa is available still then he would be able to fill the reduction in run from an aging Swan. He might not have the best reputation but he will run up and down the ground all day providing options.
Midfield depth.
Using last year as an example Bernie Vince and/or Nicky Dal would have been massive for us.
We have three midfielders and then lots of young players who may or may not become good midfielders.
Recruiting young mids is welcomed but i would also like us too look at some mature bodies.
Crumbing Forward.
Elliot can crumb but is more of a lead up forward. Kennedy and Broomy can crumb but they are too young to be consistent and will be used a lot in the midfield.
Jeff Garlett? Any good ones in the Draft?
Pace.
Would give up a fair bit for a Yarran, Stephen Hill or Brad Hill. We need some good 80 metre players with foot speed and good skills.
I have faith that Young will come good, Freeman could grow into a quality player but I still think that is a gap in our list.
